I understand that the new Formula+ is required in the '06 due to lighter clutch pull to prevent slipping. With all this recent talk about Mobil-1 possibly causing stator failure, I wanted to switch. Is the Formula+ okay in an '04 primary? |

Yes, At Homecoming the Buell staff recommended it for any Buell primary. I switch mine over to it at my last change. |

Let's clarify here - it's Mobil-1 GEAR OIL (GL-5) that is the concern. Mobil-1 engine oil (15w-50) DOES work very well in the tranny. If you have a question as to what oil to use, simply e-mail the supplier... |

Like they mentioned. You can use a variety of oils. For H-D oils, Formula + is now used for every chaincase/tranny on Buell/XL models (year is regardless). |
