Does anyone have any experience with the bronze bushings from American Sportbike for the shifter and rear brake. I noticed he has them for the 2001 and later shifter. http://www.americansportbike.com/shop/cgi-bin/cp-app.cgi?usr=51F6376101&rnd=3442 889&rrc=N&affl=&cip=12.47.224.7&act=&aff=&pg=prod&ref=PROD408&cat=s3control&cats tr=HOME:s3control Thanks, Mark |

I have an home made bronze bushing for the shifter. Shifting goes much much more precise and easier. Great bang for the bucks. Hans |

They work GREAT! Highly recomended. I had them on my M2 before I changed shifters. Most inexpensive way to improve your stock shifter. Brad |

The key for them to really work well is to sand the extra washer that comes with them until it is EXACTLY the right thickness. If you put it on and just tighten the footpeg all the way, it will pinch. Leaving the footpeg bolt slightly loose is NOT an option, it's a good way to fatigue the bolt. Rather, you take a piece of sandpaper on a flat surface and rub the extra washer back and forth until it removes just the right amount of material. This way, there is no side slop, and the wear from vibration over time is markedly reduced. But I'll take a Banke shifter every time Al |

Absolutely the best mod done to my M2 ever, er, well except for maybe the Yost Power Tube kit, anyway, well worth the money. |

Al, You sell the bushings for the shifter and the brake pedal in a package. One's listed for 2000 and earlier, the other's listed for 2001/2002. What if I have a 2000 bike with the 2001/2002 shifter? Will the 2001/2002 brake pedal bushing work on my bike? |

I put them on my Banke shifter/brake but through my army boots I can't tell the difference really. I tried the washer sanding thing, but don't think I got it quite right, that may be the problem. But I would just rather have the bronze than plastic, that's enough for me. |

The only change is on the shifter side, the brake side is the same on both. If you have the 2001 shifter on the bike, buy the 2001 bushing set. Al |
