Dang, I didn't realize he was still around. He plays a mean blues guitar too... (Sorry, I couldn't resist when I saw the thread title.) |

Thanks for the congratulations on the race win. It was an amazing weekend. Our first one as an amateur. Its good to see that people are following the racing at Loudon. If anyone would like to go to the races on 9-2-06 we will be running in four races. Let us know if your coming and we will cook you some hot dogs. There could be two other buells at the track as well. Thanks again, Robert Johnson #802 |

Robert, I will be there on the 2nd. I will begin shooting some photos. This will be my first time shooting a race. Great job, and I'll see you there. |

Way to go Robert! Thanks for taking time to visit and let us know how you are doing. How about a play by play.. where did you start, and how did the race play out? Feed us poor hungry deskbound racer wannabees. |

The thunderbike race at loudon is a two wave race, the experts leave first, then the amateurs leave in the second wave. I started on the outside of the second row in the amateur race. I got a good start and was in third by the second corner. By the end of the second or third lap I had moved up into second. The leader of the race and I cleared out from the rest of the field. With two laps to go we caught about four or five slower experts. I made a pass for the lead down the front straight so that I would have first run on the slower experts, and was able two pass two of them going into turn one. I then but my head down and road the remainder of the race as hard as I could to take the win. |

Looking forward to this weekend. 75 degrees and mostly sunny, this is going to be a great weekend to... well shoot some photos anyway. I am going to have skip the 23rd and the 24th, but I would like to see about doing some corner working in October. |

Looks like I am going to have to back out on Saturday. Calling for rain all day, not too good for the camera equipment. |
