Well ME and the BOLT went down this weekend while ridding with the Bear Mountain Crew...(good first impression huh?)..lol ALL my fault for ridding a little too fast(for me) in not so good weather on a non-familiar roadway.. Came around a sharp bend and got to close to the yellow line...It was wet out and the front tire slid...Managed to recover from that part but it but was still unsteady from recovery and there was a stone wall on the right side of the road and I road the edge of it a few feet and think "object fixation" took affect..looking at what you don't want to hit = Hitting That Object!!! Scrapped the wall and went down...Luckily not going that fast at that point, But Still SUCKS! I did have some gear on..jacket,gloves,and helmet. ALL the body parts WITH gear are okay... Parts WITH OUT gear HURT...I have a very soar foot from hitting the wall, and my hip hurts from the slam to the ground. I still need some good pants and boots. just won some pants on ebay...boots soon to come. The Bike did remarkably well... was able to get it fixed (pretty well) on the side of the road with the help of the others that were there. (THANKS AGAIN GUYS!!!). Had to drive home through some NASTY rain for about 3+ hours and had no rear brakes...THAT SUCKED! ALL in All still had a great time in NEW YORK and will be there again in about 4 weeks for the HHII run. I will post pics when i get out to the shed of the bikes wounds.. |

OUCH! Hope you and your bike will be okay soon! Although I don't have problems riding in the rain, I do tend to go slow and avoid the twisties during those times. No need to take unnecessary chances. |

Was part my fault for leading the pack in such an abrupt manner and not giving my usual warning for that stretch of road...My appologies. Further up the road would have been a very bad scene so in that aspect I'm glad it happened there instead. For where and how the hit occured I am very surprised at how little damage occured to the bike... and rider of course. Glad all made it home in one piece and will hope for dry weather for the next time. |

No ones fault but mine there hammer! After all, we are adults and responsible for our own actions. I was on a mission to get one "good" ride in before leaving. Well I got it! just a little more than expected. All is good. could have been worse. Good lesson learned. Can't wait till next one! |
