Took about 10 mins to remove and I just taped it off. I used Krylon Fusion rattle can. I haven't road tested it yet but I'm sure it will do just fine. (It is the stiffer "race " shock.) I don't get the " Keychain" remark. Did you compress the suspension with a strap to remove the shock? Clever.
