Is a Buell XB Went out for the umpteenth ride on the 06 XB- and (re) noticed that it is small, stout, handles impeccably and has the "potato potato" sound we all love. And I (Like I am sure all of you) have ridden Harley and other bikes alike) Thanks for your interest Thanks Erik |

Best Harley ever made... I'm think'n you could be right....but you may be scolded here for calling it a Harley . Many are in denial that the Buell is indeed a Harley Davidson product.... I take great joy in owning H-D's little bastard cousin that looks funny, goes like hell and goes "potatoe-potatoe" ! Could you imagine a Buell with another engine other than the 45 degree V-twin pushrod rattlebox Harley engine ? I don't think so, but it's been hashed over a few times in the past with what-if I-4 this or water cooled that. If it wasn't a H-D it would just suck the fun out of it for me . |

A Buell is to Harley what Corvette is to Chevrolet; there is a shared ancestor but little in common between the marque's owners. |

"And I (Like I am sure all of you) have ridden Harley and other bikes alike" The first Harley I ever rode was the Buell I bought off the showroom floor. I still haven't ridden a Sportster. |

If everybody was honest Buell sales would increase dramatically just by changing the the Harley moniker. Support etc would not be an issue then. Just some thoughts I am sure it has been thought of before. I am sure there are some valid reasons. |

your still wrong with the A Buell is to Harley what Corvette is to GMC. It's "A Buell is to Harley, as Chevy is to GM. the first one that went corvette to chevy would be like "XB is to Buell as Vette is the Chevy. |

But what I'd really like to see is more H-D merchandise that bears BOTH names together. I don't want my Buell to BE a Harley, but some popularity by association sure wouldn't hurt! Maybe then we could actually GET some merchandise! ~SM |

"I don't want my Buell to BE a Harley, but some popularity by association sure wouldn't hurt! " The hip folks in the marketing circles call that there phenomenon the "Halo Effect". (Good to see these Snapple caps being put to some use!) |

Within the Buell beats the heart of a Harley Davidson motorcycle. A bionic heart. With more horsepower than any other stock HD heart. A heart of fire and brimstone, yet supple of skin and subdued allure. Does a man with a pig's valve in his heart become a pig any more than he already was? Would a baboon with a man's heart transplanted become a man? Our Buells are unique creatures, whose whole is greater than the sum of its parts. |

If everybody was honest Buell sales would increase dramatically just by changing the the Harley moniker. Probably true, but what would that do to Harley sales? HD is all about image. They can charge a premium for that image. I don't think they want someone to be able to buy a cheaper Buell and get a slice of that image. Seperation also gives Buell the freedom to be different w/o worrying about the effect their bikes will have on Harley's image. |

Revo? Don't make me laugh. If I wanted a radiator on my bike I'd buy a Goldwing. Tell you what, start your V-rod (which you don't have) and I'll start my Buell. Then we can throw rocks at each other's engines and see which one stops running first. Hey, what's that green stuff all over the place? Oh, really? What a mess, see you later, vvvrrrooommmmm...... |

I don't see how Buell would have a negative effect on Harley's image. You can buy a Sportster cheaper than some Buells. What would happen is that, should any of the cruiser crowd try out a Buell, they'd be wondering why the heck H-D wasn't putting those engines on THEIR bikes. I've already seen it happen with my father-in-law and my brother-in-law. They were used to a 1200 Sportster and thought they knew what to expect outta' the Buell, but were absolutely blown away. I haven't ridden his Sporty, but my father-in-law claims the Ss is 3X the bike, and they both wanted a Buell powerplant. For that reason, I think H-D would only benefit, unless of course, that scenario is exactly what they're worried about... ~SM |

Yeah every bike and car that has a radiator leaks as soon as a rock hits it.You are hilarious,A revo has more HP than a Buell, get over it.A radiator doesn't seem to hurt all those race bikes neither. |

Is there an echo in here? Or is that just the rattle of marbles in an empty skull? Who cares if a Revo has more HP? It's not a true Harley motor, now is it? Seems to me, last time I checked, PORSCHE had a big hand in designing that lump. Ze Germans are coming!

Its got harley heart/lump... I wouldn't mind a water cooled motor... Look at numbers other twins make.... If buell does it they need to do it right.. |
