I'm new to the board, and Buells, and this is my first post. So I apologize if this question has already been answered. I've been looking for the perfect Buell for the past few weeks. I'm interested in getting something that is left over, just to save on the purchase price. I have found the following: a few 06s for $9000, a few 05s for $8000, and an '04 for $7500. I'm sure these are pretty standard prices for left over XB12S. My question is this, what are the differences between the model years? Is one any better than the other? Thanks. |

05s got the 43mm forks(most of us mortals will never notice a difference) 06 got better shifting and lighter clutch effort, new swingarm. |

Another '04 here. Love it! Although, $7500 sounds a little steep if the bike is stock. I just bought mine for $6k with 2800 miles on it. |

I got my 2004 XB12s as a leftover in June of 2005. I paid $6995 OTD, but I was someone friends with the salesman, otherwise it was $7695. I would hand them a check for $7000 and I'd bet they'll take it. |

2004 xb12s - No problems - fantastic bike - really not much of a difference with the 06 transmission in my opinion. 04 and 05 swingarm much better quality than the welded together 06. I would agree with nasty on an offer of $7000 or close to it. |

I'd forget all about the year of make & just get the one you like the best. |

It's an all stock "new" '04. I'm leaning towards that one because it's my color of choice, Red. It kind of reminds me of my old Ducati 900SS. There seems to be a theme with the '04s and the race kit. I'll have to look into that too. Thanks for the help. |

You know - It sounds like the 04 XB12S is the best one! I know I already posted but I am so happy with my bike's performance, reliability, looks. I have to post again! GEt the Red 04!
