I had the Buell Traction Grips installed by my dealer when I bought the bike. To my surprise they did not reinstall the Bar Ends when the grip were installed. Is there a reason for that? I'd like to have Bar Ends installed with the grips. I like the look and understand that they help to reduce vibrations. Thanks. |

The Buell bar ends are just plastic and do nothing for the vibes. The traction grips I bought had built in ends. Doesn't yours?? |

You would have to cut out the grips to put them on wouldn't you? Maybe the shop didn't want to do all that? dunno... |

Maybe I'm thinking of weighted bar ends that help with vibrations. My traction grips have a plastic end on them but they are not like the bar ends caps that are standard on the bike. Is that what you are referring to? |

They are either a take'em or leave'em option.. maybe your dealer thought it would look cleaner leaving the grip ends uncut. If you don't mind it, then leave it, the oem bar ends are pretty useless...otherwise get something sturdy and cut off the end cap on the grips and screw in some real bar-ends.. |

The Traction grips are a big improvement over the stock grips. I had to cut the center end section out to install bar end mirrors. I put them in the freezer to harden up, and used a saw type implement sold to cut out pumpkins to remove the center section. You could then use the bar ends that came on the bike or some weighted bar ends. |

I've got to lose the stock grips..unless I'm doing 65-70 the vibration kills me... |

The plastic end caps ARE standard on the bike, so the XBs do not come standard with WEIGHTED bar ends. |

Bodyshot1, Check out a "BARSNAKE". I installed one on my bike, vibration is not a problem now on my 9S. I know the 12s vibrate more, but I'm sure it would help. And the Traction grips help too. (Message edited by old man on August 18, 2006) |

I understand what the barends and barsnake are for but whats better about the traction grips? I've seen them just thought they were another set of grips. (Message edited by danman2540 on August 18, 2006) |

The traction grips are just way more comfortable than the stock grips, they are thicker in the middle and fit nicely in your palm. another plus is that they are cheap and come pre-installed on the plastic throtle sleeve gismo for a nice fit. |

The Traction grips are more barrel shaped than the stock grips, fitting the natural shape of the hand more comfortably. IMHO |
