Been running Syn3 since my 1k service now and again at my 5k, seems to do well especially in these last couple months this summer. Picked up a case of M1 V-Twin today from Auto Zone, only one they had. Worked out to $8 per quart which is what I think HD is charging me for the Syn3. I don't want to start an oil war thread here but these bottles are marked as suitable for all three cases in our bikes, engine, trans, and wet clutch case. Same as Syn3. It would be great if Syn3 specs and base compounds were known, but if the M1 is good for all cases in my bike then I don't feel there is any other choice. |

Ditch the Syn3. The other two oils are great, as is Red Line. |

06 Buells have a different transmission I don't know if an engine oil is a good thing for the trany or not. I found a whine in the tranny when the put Syn3 in and it went away when I used the specified Formula+ oil. Just an observation. |

I too am kind of leary about dropping the viscosity in the tranny.. Amsoil does make a Syn gear oil.. I am leaning toward that for the tranny MB |
