No valve adjustment at all. There tends to be alot of mechanical noise from Buells--especially when hot.(You should hear my S-2 with aftermarket cams/lifters/pushrods.)What oil are you using and when was the last change? And your HD friend is not one to talk as HD have no valve adjustments needed--and no way to do it unless he changed to adjustable pushrods. |

My bike sounds like a blender full of nickels. Always has. |

HD Screamin Eagle 20/50 changed bout 3 weeks ago. Hey Brad, just nervous because my bike has a 6 month engine and trans warranty so I want to make sure...you say its normal of a Buell I thought so but, is it just Buell or all HD V-twins because when I listened to my friends HD cruiser all I could hear was exhuast no motor noise and that was the big 1400 somethin |

The XB engines sound noiser than the tubers probably because there is no actual fuel tank to block the mechanical noise, only the thin plastic plate of the airbox bottom, a plastic filter cover and the outer cover. These don't attenuate noise as well as the fuel inside a closed container. My XB9R sounds terrible as well, like a muted rock crusher. Oh well. |

pwnzor .. yr bike's a dry clutch ducati then?? my bike sounds like a diesel unto it hits 5500, then it sounds like a full race bike! those damn airbox mods .. all rattle & roll. tappets are hydro anyhoo, so they self-adjust .. pushrods can get loose in older xl designs .. can easily be tightened .. but them dry clutch ducati's are something else, considering the prestige, looks & $$ a$$ociated w/ them .. its all part of the vtwin experience not called (h)onda. |
