I will be be riding my Buell down with a buddy to Barber from KY, taking the "long way" backroads to watch the Buells run. We will be camping out at 29 Dreams and riding over to the track from there. MR, I hope you have your bike by then, but if not, we will be rooting for you anyway. We will stop and visit with you guys in the pits. Jimidan |

Hey Keith! Ant & I really appreciate your offer for a layover in Roanoke, but we'll be working on both the XB12R & XBRR to get ready for Barber, so I'm not sure when we'd be able to get out of dodge on Wednesday. If we can swing it, we'll be in touch, but right now it looks like we'll crash here at my place for a few hours and leave in the wee hours Thursday morning. Hope your foot is healed in time to race! |

We took a good look at the weather for Birmingham this weekend and the constant rain forecast until Monday has forced us to cancel the ride down. We didn't want to ride down and back, and tent camp in the rain. We were planning to ride only on secondary back roads, which are no fun in the wet. So, instead we are planning on riding over to VIR next weekend, weather permitting. It is about the same distance from KY. Good luck to MR and Liberty! |

Well, they made it. Last I heard they were in the strangely long and non-moving line to get in. And yes, it was raining. Sucks. At least the air mattresses float. We'll keep you up to date as I hear stuff! They got a LOT of races they're signed up for so hopefully Odin-Moose-Race-Guy will take good notes. |

So, from what I understand, Anthony Mutant-boy took 4th place yesterday in the race he was in, which I think was the CCS Thunderbike. They slept in the rain again, with no tents, because you're not allowed to camp in the pits, and it was still raining this morning. Mutant-boy qualified 8th for the Thunderbike race tomorrow, but I don't think they've taken the XBRR out yet. Cell phones are kinda crappy, and with race bikes going by constantly it's REALLY hard to hear. So, there ya go then. I'm sure they'll correct me when they get home. :P |

Hey . . . . hey . . . hey....that one shot looks like the Mutant on the grid in the XBRR! Too cool of what ? That looks like one gorgeous facility. I'll be eager to hear how the weekend went. |

Chellem said: "They slept in the rain again, with no tents, because you're not allowed to camp in the pits, and it was still raining this morning." It IS a beautiful facility...I can't wait to do a track day there. There is a campground on top of the hill...it has NO trees. It is not much fun in a thunderstorm, but it beats sleeping in the bed of a truck. Thanks for keeping us posted. jimidan |

So this morning the call said that Mutant-Boy had run in two races, with lots of letters that I couldn't hear really well, but I'm pretty sure it was one 4th and one 3rd. I know, my updates are sucky. It'll get better when they get back. The Mutant I'm sure will have plenty to say. |

It's my favorite track too! not to mention the attached Barber Motorsports Museum. Who'd of thought ice cream money could buy so many cool toys? As far as sleeping in the rain goes, a truck bed, or at worst underneath a sun shade dropped all the way down should help at least a little. I love my RV for such situations. It may be older than dirt, but it does the job, and tows a trailer! |

DAve is right, there wasn't a SOUL there! Maybe they need to ADVERTISE a lil' bitty bit more for small (& what they consider insignificant) events.
