All of a sudden there are two Jardines on eBay. One of them can be at your door for $205, the other $220. I like my Jardine. 1500 trouble free miles so far. | ||

Jardine is good - power-wise - Force - is the TOL of power - reliability on the other hand - lol - however, I've had pretty good luck making the WB reliable, perhaps I can spread that to the Force! GT - JBOTDS! EZ | ||

The Force!    Not even installed and there is a hardware glitch - the mounting nut sent was not made for the bolt - wrong pitch - will pick up correct bolt tomorrow, silver powder coated, welds look ok, will add extra rubber for both the rear mounting and the front, and bought all new front mounting hardware - lol GT - JBOTDS! Hey guys, the time has come for me to get an exhaust system. Looking at the Jardine or vance and Hines systems. Which one is reccomened over the other and why? At the moment it looks like maybe the V&H as it's a little cheaper and this is a budget bike. Any input is appreciated. | ||

V & H. Its headpipe seems to last and its the cheapest.Everything else is expensive or unreliable or unproven(imho) or discontinued! Though I like the looks of that Force pipe! May the Force be with you, EZ! | ||

I put a Vance and Hines exhaust on my kid's '05 Blast because the Jardine wasn't available. The guy at http://www.ironmachine.com/ was very helpful in getting me this pipe since Jardine was out of stock. I also put a Pro-Line intake on and had a bracket made which stabilized the carburetor from the old intake support bracket. In addition, I replaced the carb-intake rubber boot with this one: http://www.turbotime.us/CategoryProductList.jsp?cat=Motorcycles and it is a much needed improvement. The bike was tuned at Battlefield Harley in Gettysburg. I cant believe they actually list the intake boot as being for a Blast! $3.50 is cheap! Keep us posted on its reliability. | ||

I tried two and they didn't last long, have since upgraded the red bike to the Torque stack by American Sport Bike and Stack filter by Outerwears in red - lol - now I can use a stock boot and not worry, however, will still be testing other boots for purposes of longevity - have just purchased nylon reinforced hose and am purchasing steel wire reinforced hose in a bit. A note on all these different exhausts - the biggest difference - besides stepping is the header length - the longer - the more power. I'll put up a length chart as soon as someone can give me the V&H length and someone concur with it, also the Kerker, and Pro-Series - then I can post all of them - lol GT - JBOTDS! EZ | ||

12.95 at American Sport Bike and worth every penny! The only performance intake light enough to handle the weight capacity of the boot - just add a 3 3/4" band clamp, and an Outerwears 3 1/2" 135-B stack filter and your good to go - although I'd still add springs for support and to protect against a serious engine cough - lol - http://www.americansportbike.com/shop/cgi-bin/cp-app.cgi?usr=51F2817807&rnd=9445 030&rrc=N&affl=&cip=67.112.31.2&act=&aff=&pg=prod&ref=PROD66&cat=m2air&catstr=HO ME:m2air As for the Force - when they came out they where between 500 and 600 dollars - the mega power exhaust, however their weld reliability wasn't and their price sent them out of the market - mine was a found item in the back of a supply room at SportTwin and put up for sale at less than half retail - of course I couldn't pass that up and the challenge to see if I can modify it for reliability as I have the WB - which really helps the Red bike book - is something I look forward to - lol - the return is simple - the enjoyment of the most powerfull non-custom exhaust made for the Blast - lol - and the fact I'll never have to hear my neighbors complain about the noise - I'll be deaf from the Force - lol GT - JBOTDS! EZ | ||

but then it just sticks out the side, doesn't it get hit by your knee? I am looking at some Vanhool Bus hoses with the correct ID and a sharp 90 bend that would bring the intake back under the tank. I schrounged up a couple of pieces and left them at a shop that I won't be going back to for a while, Doh! | ||

getting hit by your knee doesn't really happen though it does depend on what you have for for rearsets. I know my intake fits perfectly behind my knee | ||

My knee is to the outside and I've trained it not to touch - lol - swampy - seen that done on one of the first customized Blasts - see - And I'd still recommend the spring support - couldn't hurt.  GT - JBOTDS! EZ (Message edited by ezblast on August 08, 2006) | ||

 Had to create the mounts myself - so I added plenty of rubber for vibrational protection, besides using new stock hardware - and I know just where it will go and will get the V&H type P clamp for the front when it does - I actually think the rear bracketry I fabbed up will work out due to the amount of flex built into the system - lol This sucker is fast and loud - definately a racing type exhaust - 4 steps - the built in torque cone step, to 1 5/8" to 1 3/4" to 1 7/8" to the reverse megaphone - definately the longest header in all of the Buell Blast exhausts. The sound is awesome and no one will say it sounds like a sewing machine - lol GT - JBOTDS! EZ | ||

Stops just before the rim - about 1+" clearance from the tire - lol - the front hanger is one of those auto exhaust rubber block muffler (I have little faith in this but it came with the exhaust) hanger and the rear hanger is a straight bracket with about 1/3" rubber spacer on the bottom and another 1/3" metal spacer to the top - the rear hanger looks like a good working unit - the front mounting I'll probably replace with a V&H p-clamp setup - retaining the extra rubber I added at the front engine mounting point. I have a '01 blast with less than 8k on it and I have already had to replace both exhaust mounting studs. And on the way back from the mechanic the header pipe decided that it was going to break right at the front of the anchor. I am not happy with my bike....... Anyone know of someone trying to get rid of a muffler? | ||
