2-1/2 years later... another Blastard from "the armpit of America" checks in! (it's warm & humid down here - also, the area near the refineries doesn't smell too nice.) |

Sorry guys, The armpit of america IS Gary, Indiana. From Michigan, you go south till you smell it then go west till you step in it! I just got back from moving my daughter to Killeen, TX. Beautiful country down there, and it looks like you lucky people get about 12 months of riding in. |

Texas really is a big place, with all kinds of terrain. That part of the state is really nice, but as you go south and east, it gets flat, featureless, boring, and suffocatingly humid. Luckily, it looks like I'll be taking the Blast up to the hill country next weekend! |

Next thursday a bunch of us NBOT's (see link above) are riding up to Kerrville to ride the 3 sisters, aka the twisted sisters, CR-335, 336, and 337. We're staying a couple days to ride some other stuff in the area (devil's backbone?), and maybe float down a river or something. We all float down here! LOL Normally we meet at the Valero at 5050 FM-2920, take various routes including Dobbin-Huffsmith rd and Honea-Egypt rd to get more northward, then some twisted stuff like Mt. Lake Pleasant rd out to 105, Bailey Grove rd., Johnson rd, Bethel rd, and Mt. Mariah rd - those are wicked tight twisties. The higher-speed curves type stuff would be like 149 through the forest (many LEO's!) up to Richards, the road thru Appolonia to Anderson, 244 up to the north end of 3090, and 3090 to Navasota. 3090 has a few tricky turns - the kind where you find part of a blue sport bike on the ground while you're looking for your friends red parts, and then another sport bike comes along and wrecks, and then a lady in a truck comes along looking for chrome doodads that fell off her harley when she went down there the week before... yes, really! There's also a twisty loop off Honea-Egypt rd: Bryan ln, Wilderness Way, Circle dr, also an area south of 105 with streets like Apache, Shawnee, and lookout tower. Sometimes we go west - fun roads north of Brookshire, over to Sealy, Fayetteville, Bellville. |

Riding out to Motorsport Ranch Houston (MSR) tomorrow, out 288 near Angleton, I think google it if you want to go. Admission is free for spectators, and also you can take "parade laps" around the track during the lunch break, so get there early! |
