I know it has been discontinued with the muffler, but can it still be ordered? Anyone have a line on any in stock somewhere? --Sean |

They are running short, best have someone with access to the HD-Net, I think it's called, look for it specifically. I got mine in June from Texas. |

Thanks for the info, maybe someone on this board will be able to help me out. What are the thoughts of running the Race ECM and air cleaner with the stock pipe? --Sean |

Thespive, I have one kit left at the shop. It's the Ceramic coated pipe with the ECM and K&N. I'll look up the price when i get in to work. Badweb even gets a 10% discount. 770-979-7999 and ask for Phil in parts. Hope that helped. Smokescreen |

Jump on it, Thespive! They are going like flapjacks in a lumbermill. The power increase is very noticeable, you'll wonder how you went without it. Get it get it get it.

At the risk of starting a flame war, I just can't help pointing out that many brothers prefer the Drummer muffler to the stock race can because it is tuned for mid range whilst the factory race can is a top end muffler. It works very nicely indeed with the the Race ECM and the K+N air filter. The Dummer also has a fuller, deeper sound to many ears, (mine included). The muffler is available from the maker who is a wonderful chap and a sponsor of this site: Kd Fab. Their web addy is: http://www.kdfab.com/
Did I mention that is a cool looking unit as well? |

Also a great choice. My personal opinion is that the race kit is not only an excellent option, but an excellent value for all 3 pieces. I think everyone agrees its a good bang for your bucks package, even if they like another exhaust better. Either way, don't stay stock man, hop that thing up and get your grunt on.

I am looking for the Race kit for several reasons. I have done all of the research and read the Exhaust Shootout. I like the Buell piece because the all three pieces are cost effective, I like the Buell pieces because they will be more friendly on my 2-year warranty, because the gains are where I ride and because the Buell muffler is the quietest, and I love in a beach city where the cops frown on loud pipes. But I do appreciate everyone who has chimed in. Smokescreen, can you hold that kit for me until we chat? --Sean (Message edited by thespive on August 07, 2006) |

I have a Buell Pro-series muffler that I would be willing to trade for a Drummer or a D&D. It has 4400 miles on it. |

Sean - I purchased the Race Kit a few months ago, they are indeed very impressive. Great bang for the buck, and an impressive sound.. among other things. |

The Buell Race Kit is fantastic. Does anyone know why it wouldn't be available any more? |

TheSpive (Sean), Unless I'm mistaken, aren't you the guy who built up a REALLY cool HD Sportster ??? As I remember, it was a LOT more race looking than the typical "chromed out chopper look" ??? As a matter of fact, it doesn't surprise that you went onto a Buell after that Sportster. If I'm correct, I'll bet many here would love to see a pic of that bike. Let us know, EE |

Paul, As I understand it, Harley decided not to offer any modified exhausts on Buell or HD in order to make nice with the Government, or something like that. The do gooders in the EPA and such like, who REALLY know what is good for you, eventually want to ban ALL modifications of any kind to motor vehicles. They don't want all these citizens and taxpayers to be having any fun unless they say it is polictically correct. (Message edited by gentleman_jon on August 08, 2006) |

Hey EE, Thats me for sure. It is an '04 883 that has been converted to a 1250 Stage 3 monster, with over 100hp to the wheel. It has been in some articles in Hot Bike and Hot Rod Bikes. On it I have a MIkuni HSR42, Forcewinder, Supertrapp, 1200S suspension, rearsets, clip-ons, BT45 rubber. Its an awesome bike, but the Buell is everything I wanted the Sporty to be. Now that I have the Buell I am going to have to sell the Sportster. It is a cool bike, but the Buell is more for what i like to do. I am willing to let it go for the low price of $8000 give or take, if you know anyone who might want it. I'll probably post it somewhere in the next month. http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h231/bobspivey/0606Rocket9sm.jpg --Sean |

"that is one gorgeous f'ing sportster!" It sure is, that's why it was so easy to remember. Best looking "non-Buell" HD I've seen. Makes me wish I had the $8K laying around, that's a bike I would enjoy seeing in my garage !!! But Sean is right, an XB is everything that his Sportster wanted to be. |

Do you have $7500 laying around? I would keep it, but two bikes aren't practical for me an I am saving for an engagement ring. Thanks for the compliments on it, it was a lot of hard work. Here are some more pictures. --Sean |

Hey Phil, I called and spoke to Dennis, very nice guy. I went ahead with the purchase, and I appreciate your help. You are one of the last people with a kit in stock, certainly there isn't anything available in California. Heck, my dealer has 6 on order. Thank you very much. --Sean |

Phil, Dennis called me at the end of the day and said he is going to have you complete the order tomorrow. I gave him all of my shipping and cc info, but I will call you tomorrow to confirm everything, thanks again. Curtyd, A bunch of Buell dealerships have kits on order, hoping Buell will complete the orders one last time with inventory on the shelf. --Sean |
