I get an industry magazine called Automotive Design Production at my company. It has a good story about Erik Buell and his vision of motorcycle design and manufacture. I think you can see it @ www.autofieldguide.com David |

I got the magazine at work too. Coworkers brought it too me. They recognized the Uly since mine is usually in the parking lot. |

Erik is a hell of a nice guy. But, then again, I'm infatuated with him the way a little girl is with a rock star. There are a number of Aussies who have visited the USA and if you get a chance we'd love to have you. The first chance I had to meet new freinds from Oz is when Ross and Charles were riding up I-43 one day and stopped by the factory on a couple S-1's. They appeared at the receptionists desk and she, caught by surprise, called me. I spent the next 3 hours giving them the "cook's tour" and letting them see how Buells are designed and built. Paul, from Adelaide, and Ross from Townsville, are frequent visitors to the US and can answer any questions you may have. Thanks for the neat note and I hope we get to meet you. If, while visiting the USA, you want to do a tour of the Buell factory just let me know....hell, with my ego.....I'd do it just to be photographed there!

The plan is to tour Asia this year, then the US next year (your autumn, then get up north for some skiing), would enjoy meeting up and doing the Buell experience! |

PS is it just me or is the idea of taking a Uly from Aus back to the factory a bit weird! |

Probably both, but I hired a bike in Tasmania once and often thought "wow we could really have some serious fun here IF we were on the Buell".

I shipped a Sportster to Brisbane, then rode it to Launceston, Tasmania and back to northern NSW. I had a lot of fun. If you come to the US in the Autumn, bring your warm clothes. Fall temperatures are close to what pass for mid winter temperatures in Brisbane. |

Yes, I enjoyed the article too! But I am confused by the mention of, "if customer notifies the company via company website or email about a potential issue", since I have never found a way to do that! Does this means that Buell is coming out of the closet and claiming the BADWEB site as their own OFFICIAL COMMUNICATION SITE? Btw, I thought the Erik picture was good! ("Let's see here, how did that sidestand screw up on us?") Still got to love you all at Buell! (And no Lowflyer, no gay comments are required here!) The SLAYER! |
