How about a 700 watt alternator? More juice to two sets of heated clothing, heated grips, and aux lights. My adventures on the Uly include trips in the low 40's upper 30's if the roads are dry. |

Better induction, 6Th gear, adjustable pegs, and there on building across the street from HD stealerships. |

4 valve heads don't work on these motors. the web between the exhaust valves burns and cracks/breaks. Even 3 valve heads don't work because the increase and mass and complexity don't pay off. I discussed this with Erik at homecoming. He's a great guy and was very patient with our questioning him at length. Anyway, the 2 valve setup is having no problems filling the cylinders at the current rev ceiling even on the XBRR. If they lighten the crank and make it stronger and up the rev limit significantly then maybe a 3 valve head would pay off. (2 intake 1 larger exhaust valve) |

I want 6gal of fuel. I hate stopping for gas. I want an honest 300+ mile range if I'm flogging it. I want ABS. Put a switch on it for track days if you must, but, for everyday ABS is a good thing. A sixth gear would be fine, lower the 1st 5 a bit and step up the current 5th a bit. |

6th gear(dealbreaker)- I've reached for it to many times to not have one on my next sportbike 10k+ rev limiter-maybe its the young blood in me, but I feel like the engine still has a lot of pull as you're bouncing off the rev limiter I'd rather keep my current weight then have more fuel to be honest, unless these 135 rwhp bikes come out and eat more fuel.... With the price of fuel, I think I'd rather have more efficient delivery to the rw then nesecarily more hp at the crank. I rather enjoy 45-50 mpg, and paying 9 bucks to fill up once a week. And just to clarify for the BMC, I don't need these by 08, just by whenever I'm looking to get a new bike |

6th gear, overdrive, for mellow thruway runs. ? But if I keep the engine at 3000rpm, I'm speeding how much? Hmm, still want it. I remember Craig Vetter's, comment, paraphrased here. 'everyone wants 5 gallon gas tanks, try putting 5 gallons of water in a garbage bag, then perch it on your bike in place of the existing tank. Not so easy to make that look good. |

Not so easy to make that look good. Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Suzuki, Triumph, and BMW do it. Some of them are even over 7gal. Don't really care about it looking great grand and glorious. I want fuel. I like to ride. I hate pumping gas. Stopping for fuel a couple of times a day is enough for me to not buy or sell a bike. Did I mention I hate pumping gas? |

Hmmm.... My favorite roads aren't long enough to require a re-fuel and I don't mind stopping. Those bikes that have 5-6-7 gallon tanks don't get TOO much further on that amount of fuel anyway... They certainly don't make it through the canyons as well. |

250 miles per tank under pretty much any conditions, 300+ is you act semi-responsible. I commutte most of the time (even more after I switch jobs in the coming weeks). Stopping every other day or so is just one more annoyance. BTW, if it holds 6 gal you don't have to put in 6 gal; but, if it only holds 4 you are pretty much stuck unless you do some aftermarket plumbing. That usually results in a totally modified balance. |

Better, but what I had in mind is the XBRR (racing) fairing. There have been a few comments about how wide this fairing is. I was thinking it'd be perfect for a sport-tourer. |

It would probably need a different windscreen to make it work for touring. It was designed to be used in full tuck, not sitting up so there would probably be a lot of buffeting. |

I'll push a couple designs around tonight and see what I come up with. I was thinking something like the yamaha adjustable wind screen and fairing. |

I colored in the belt gaurds thinking matching plastic but leaving them black would look pretty nice too. Im gonna try and put something unique together tonight, instead of piecing a couple brands together. I want to maintain a lot of the lines, but Im going to rotate the windscreen back a couple degree's and change up the fairing a bit. (Message edited by drfuyutsuki on August 07, 2006) |

Josh- Great job! Erik, this one can't be that hard to do. It's mostly plastic, the mechanical stuff is already done. Save me from the clutches of a Guzzi Norge. M |
