Who in the Virginia Int'L Raceway area can start stirring the local troops for the upcoming race? There is no info yet on which team(s) will be present, but let's get started to make certain we turn out the support. If you can help, drop me a note |

C3 is the local Brag group we have discussed the race in Aug but did not know if any Buells were going to be present for the FX race. I think if Buell is there so will we be there. Red |

For those of you interested I started a thread in an attempt to coordinate several groups along the east coast to meet up and ride in for this event. Stormfronts: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/37/207230.html?1154828355 -Ras |

Yeah, the timing could not have been worse!!! It was the VROD on the dyno. Back on topic, do we want to establish a 'meeting/viewing spot' at the track? Last year we hung out between turns 4-5, that area is great because you get to see turns 1 - 5, are close to the motorcycle parking, restaurant, the paddock and the podium. Whoever gets there first on Friday try to take up a lot of space so we can fill in. the Tents/RV's fill that area quickly. (Message edited by José_quiñones on August 07, 2006) |

Jose.. You know what I'll look like all weekend.. .. Since we're (Robin is coming along) not able to stay at the track this year (AMA 'stole' all the rooms there.. and not one racer/team.. just AMA), we'll be in town at a hotel, I'll be lugging my blue back pack all day.. Look for the hat (of course) and I'll try to get some shots of you guys! Oh, and for those of you going that haven't been before.. As soon as you cross the bridge, turn right and head for the fence line! There are always campers and what not filling up that space, but it makes a pretty 'controled' meeting area for the Buell contingent. See you there.. |

Can anyone help. I'd love to attend but need to find a place that offers adequate shade. I'll be riding down early am and leaving later afternoon to beat the sun. I have a sun-associated allergy and am unable to be exposed for much longer than 15 mins. I know the XBRR is fast but it isn't quick enough to run off 20 someodd laps in that time! I could bring the cage down and put a shade structure up but that would be kind of anti-Buell. Especially because I'm only 1.5 hrs away. Do they offer "box seats" in the a/c or something? Thank you for your support..Bartles&James.. No really. NUTS |

M2nc - There is some shade found in the upper and lower paddock areas, a couple of trees and even a picnic table or two - Just off the false grid (enter paddock area, turn left, go up hill) You will be looking at 'the RollerCoaster' - Turns 15,16,17,17a and the start of the front straight. Then if you go to the right (just behind the main concession stand) there is shade in a small copse of trees facing Turns 3 and 4 you won't be able to see turn 5 from there, you have to be up on the hill in the sun, but if you move to your left as you look at the track you can see some of the main straight and Turn 1 exit/ Turn 2. There are also trees and shade (but not that good of a view) in front of the lodge opposite of where Jose is talking about meeting. You'll be on the outside of the track, putting you off Turns 5,6,6a and the back straight. Lastly (IIRC) there is some shade up top, cross the bridge (as you enter the track area)and go left, up hill to the area usually called 'family camping' or something like that. Not sure of the view but it's on the back twists - Turns 9,10,11,12,13.. Unfortunately, some really nice shaded areas are off limits unless you're AMA flag/safety crew or working the race. (opposite side of the track from the turn 3,4 area). Hope that helps you a little.. We'll see you there! |

Since the rain has scared us away from riding to CCS/ASRA racing at Barber this weekend, we will be riding the bikes over to VIR for the AMA meet. I was going to drive my car over for that one, but now will ride the S2 instead. I figure that one 1,500 mile trip a week is enough to wet my whistle...plus I couldn't afford the tires. Look for my purple and white S2...and there I will be. I am looking forward to seeing 1313 again...it has been a while. Jimidan |

Shucks boys, I will not be able to attend the VIR races and lead the "Who let the Buells Out" cheer. Dad is recovering from quad by-pass surgery that he had Tuesday...he is doing pretty well but is still really jonked by the heavy sedation drugs. He is talking out of his head, trying to get up and out of there, etc. If anyone had told me that I would be talking my Dad down from a "bad trip" when he was 83, I would have told them that they were nuts. But here I am doing it, just like back in the college dorm with Winky Jackson in '69. My drug counseling experience has finally paid off. He will be alright, but I gotta miss the race this time. I am shooting for Road Atlanta now. Have fun and say "hey" to McWilliams for me. I will be watching on TV. Jimidan |

Katie & I will be leaving from near Asheville, NC very early Friday morning. We'll set up a tent, possibly under the trees next to the shower house. Can we set up tents under the trees between turns 3 & 4? (We've never been to an AMA race at VIR, so don't know what's best.) We have a 12'x12' shade canopy and we'll wait to see where everybody wants to view from before setting that up. Carpe Viam & see y'all there!!! |

Who's racing the Warr's bike? Is Mike back in the saddle? That would be cool. |
