Hey Dave, I didn't mean to come off harsh before, I wouldn't be after you about it if I didn't care. And I mean that in the most manly way possible, being a confirmed hetero-sexual |

Brian, I did not take it as harsh at all. Just you being you. In an equally manly way, I am glad that you care about us. I know we should all, always wear all of our gear. I should also quit smoking, lose a few pounds, run 5 miles per day,not drink so much Diet Pepsi and other stuff that would supposedly prolong my life. I enjoy my life the way it is. I do wear my gear when on a sportbike. I feel naked without it. I know, accidents can happen on the HD too but I really do feel that my waaaaay more relaxed riding style on the HD lowers the risk level to a place I am comfortable riding with little or no gear. I enjoy riding "free" as much as I enjoy riding in full gear on my other bikes. That may not make any sense to some but to me it's fine and that's what matters. |

Little chocolate donuts are an often overlooked source of nutrition. They are an important part of a complete breakfast. If you don't believe me, watch this... |

Well we are in Taos NM Went downtown to wander around for awhile then went to dinner. We had a great dinner but as we finished up we saw a dog, a husky, walking towards a very busy 4 lane road. Kandie of course springs up,runs outside and calls the dog back. We bribe it with some chicken that was donated by another couple that were there eating too. Kandie got the dog to stay by her and she checked his collar. No tags(that's a whole other rant for sometime later) I go inside to talk to the mgr,he was less than helpful and didn't act like he gave 2 shits about the dog. I asked to use a phone book and phone. I called the humane society, all I got was those weird sounds when a phone goes to a fax machine. I then call the police dept. They don't have an animal control officer on duty but agreed to send an officer over. He got there in about 5 minutes In the meantime I made a leash out of one on my straps for loading stuff on the bike and Kandie was able to get it on the dog. The officer that showed up was pretty cool about it but really couldn't do anything for the dog. There will be an animal control officer on duty at 8am tomorrow morning so guess what? Yep, we nabbed the dog and he is spending the night with us at the Super 8. I got the officer to give Kandie and the dog a ride to the hotel while I went to WalMart and bought 2 dog dishes and a bag of Pedigree for him. Here he is, I think he likes hotel living The hotel has a NO PETS.NO EXCEPTIONS sign right by the door that Kandie had to sneak him in. While I was at Wal Mart she tried to get him up in the room and the key wouldn't work! She had to hide out in the parking lot until I got back and could go get the key reprogrammed. I tell you guys, it's always something when you travel with Kandie. (Message edited by daves on August 02, 2006) |

Dave, I have never lived anywhere that has the stray problem that New Mexico does. Folks there buy a dog, throw it in the backyard and forget about it. Dog jumps the fence and they bring home another one to replace it. I'll never understand it as long as I live.

Does that dog like to ride? Are you bringing him home with you? What did you name him? Will you be buying him a helmet for the ride home? |

We just turned him over to the shelter officer. Nice guy, you can tell he likes dogs and it's not just a job for him. That made me feel better. He said that almost all the dogs get adopted. A lot of them go to Colorado. We did the best we could for him, considering the circumstances. |

Still can't ride, so I won't be out Friday. I should get a call from Topeka HD pretty soon saying that I need to bring the bike over to them. I'll be working on the GSXR again this weekend. Can I borrow your front stand and grinder Larry? We need to swap out the front wheel and grind off some tie down hooks from the rear subframe so the undertail will fit correctly on Saturday. I'll pick them up and bring them back the same day. Do you think that front stand will fit in my trunk, or do I need to have my friend pick it up in a truck? Let me know. Thanks! |

James, you can pick the front stand up from me no problem, but you need to contact JJ about the grinder as it is his...As far as putting it in the trunk...Probably, but I would bring your buddies truck just to be safe.. |

I got the text, but since my cell is a work phone that my company pays for I can't see who sends me texts. I guess when you don't pay for texts with Nextell they will let you get them but you have to guess who it is from. Thanks for letting me borrow the stand Larry! JJ, can I borrow your grinder for an afternoon? I'm going to be really pissed off when I finish Travis' GSXR before I can ride my bike! He'll probably stop by over and over again on his nice rebuilt bike to go ride and I'll be waiting for HD to send a new belt to Topeka! |
