it was fun while it lasted though...honestly, the xb12Scg was the most fun i've had so far on a bike and i've had a lot of bikes if i had the room, i'd keep the S, but i don't...damn it! anyway, i thought for sure i'd buy a 999S ducati after riding one around the block, had the opportunity of riding it for about 1/2 hour yesterday (my new friend and i swapped bikes for lunch) He absolutely loved my S and i liked his 999S for the first...err, 5 minutes, after which my back started to hurt LOL. What's weird though, is that i rode to the beach, there i met with another guy who rode a nice big Rocket III, knowing more than he did about it, i bravely asked to ride it up and down the street and to my amazement (i would'a never let him ride mine)he says "Go ahead" and handed me the keys...Muahahahahahaa Man, what a bike, rolling speed of about 15-20mph i gunned it and it instantly got sideways leaving a nice strip of black rubber behind, i giggled like a virgin that just lost her cherry...the bike is smooth, has tons of torque and seems so much lighter than it really is, in any case, i was sold. I went back and asked him if he'd trade me two Buells for his Rocket III, he said no. So, long story longer, I wanna blow these Buells out now: My 2005 S has much $$ into it, all that British stuff tapped a hole in my wallet but...the next guy can enjoy it, only got 3500 miles on it. Rizoma fatbars/risers, race muffler/ecm, Trojan rear fender/tailight w/Kellerman signals, Villain black wheels, pirellis, new Lyndell brakes, etc. Bike's like new $7800 (stand included) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=016&item=260015514482&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&rd=1 I'm sure someone will want my 2005 R with only 2200 miles $6800 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=016&item=260015515587&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&rd=1 (Message edited by robino on August 01, 2006) |

I can't really understand why folks in Florida buy Buells (unless they frequent one of the great nearby tracks). The Rocket will be a great bike down there. It will blow a lot of heat on you and I don't find them attractive, but if I lived i the land of no twisties, I consider one. Good luck. |

Don't need twisty roads to enjoy a Buell, but those of us who live in Florida can enjoy riding our Buells 365 days a year. After riding a Rocket I can't understand why anyone without a small penis issue would actually want one, it's certainly not a good motorcycle, it's a better Boss Hoss, and that hardly qualifies. It does have impressive bragging rights for those who don't really ride a lot. BTW get off of I-95 and I-4 in north central Florida and you'll find the twisties. |

man, so people can't like a big bike anymore because it means they have a small penis? LMAO. The mere thought of you thinking along those lines is disturbing, (ahem - you're ghey) I ride whatever puts a smile on my face, period...and i don't think about penises while i do. LOL |

If you hadn't dumped all that money on hokey add ons, you could have bought the Rocket and still kept the Buells. |

Robino, Good luck with the Rocket III. It's an awesome bike.I had a chance to ride one a few weeks ago and felt that if I had room and $ for a third bike , one would be in my garage. |

You should ride whatever makes you happy. I really get tired of people bagging bikes other than what they ("the baggers") ride. I see it in all the differant forums (BMW,Ducati,Triumph ect). All bikes have their problems and attributes.its all about character and what you like. Buy what you want,Triumph is a standup company....John |

And we Digress... Rob, I know you want to sell but, I wanted to ask you about your Rizoma bars on the S. Do you like them? Are they lower than stock? |

no they are not lower than stock, if so, slightly...remember, they use a fatbar riser so they bring up the bar a bit, almost to that stock height, they also appear to be sweapt back a bit from stock, overall a pretty good feel i think. |

A speed triple and a rocket 3 could easily replace my Ss and night rod. Both very cool bikes, and both faster than the HD counterparts. Good luck with your sales! TK |

Never thought much about p**** size, mine always seems to fit right from where I stand, but anywhoo... "it's certainly not a good motorcycle, it's a better Boss Hoss", a remark overheard in the Daytona 200 parking lot was about how GAY the Boss Hoss looked. I went back and took another look and DAMN, if they weren't right. The old ones seem cool enuf, but the new ones are just "queer" looking, IMHO. (Message edited by CURTYD on August 01, 2006) |

I have a small penis and I like Buells. I'm really starting to like this forum. Robino, I wish you would have posted this about 1-1/2 weeks ago before I laid out the cash for a new 06. Good luck with the new bike and have fun because that's what it's all about. If we all liked the same bike it would be a dull and boring world. |

Robino - if I wasn't on the opposite coast... would snap up that 12S in a heartbeat... that's exactly the accessory setup I'm working towards! Yeah, was similarly interested in the Rizoma bars/risers as options (I've already got RRC tail piece). Mark Oregon |

Buells are great on twisty but even better in city traffic. They don't call it a streetfighter for nothing. I had a jap bike and it sucks. Your alway under geared or over geared between stop lights. It is a workout until you hit about 75 mph. Jap bike are taller too an you always tip toes on slick intersections. I-4 engines roast you alive. If you don't wrench talk about expensive. So many parts need adjusting. Japs bikes are only really usefull when cruisng from 75mph -180mph. Otherwise they are a piece of shit stop light to stop light. |

Robino, you should ride what moves you. Riding is about passion. I wish you well in the effort to convert your Buells to a Rocket 3. |

here's some recent pics of the bikes i've had/sold...i'm pretty diverse, i've gone back to the same bike time and time again on the bikes i liked, i'm just the type to keep changing stuff, often. I'm surprised i've kept my wife for 14+ yrs. LOL and that's just the pics i could find, there are many others, ZX11's, numerous VMax's and GSXR's, etc. chances are i'll probably sell the rocket III too |

Jumping from an XB to a Rocket III seems seriously strange to me... they're so utterly different. Like buying a 4X4 SUV and then saying, "Y'know what, I think I'd like a jet ski instead." I'm not a big power nut, so maybe that's the difference. If I were going the giant cruiser route though, I'd have to go with a H-D Street Rod. I think those are the best looking non-sportbikes to date! Just MHO, of course... ~SM |

well, the Nox was one of 300 brought to the states, all carbon fiber, and lots of powa' but it was left kick which was hard on me since i'm a righty, if it had electric start i'd still have it. i wish i had the Valkrie still, that sounded nice with the 2 bros pipes and was a pleasure to ride. I'm all Busa'd out having owned 3 already, and don't get me wrong, i love the xb12Ssg, i've gotten a million compliments on it and i love riding it, but for the long rides we have here it's limited. I'd hate to ride the thing down to say...Fl.Keys from here, some 300 miles, too much buzz on the hands, my nuts fall asleep after a while, my legs get hot from the bike running so hot, etc. It just ain't an every day sort of bike and i don't really have the room in my one car garage for 2 bikes right now, when i had my 4 car garage house, things were different... |
