My 2006 XB12Scg has reached 10.000 trouble free miles and I am ready to give it it's required service. The problem is I need the fork spring compressor (HD 41177)and the fork tube holder (HD 45966) in order to change the fork oil. No dealers in SoCal I have contacted have them for sale. The tools are made for HD/Buell by the Kent Moore Company and their website does not list HD specific tools. Has anyone here been able to purchase these tools or come up with a substitute that won't damage the fork or seals? |

Traxxion Dynamics sell some tools for fork servicing. You may find what you need there. Henrik |

I made a fork spring compressor when I needed to change my lower after an "incident". As for the fork holder, I just wrapped my fork tube in a rag and clamped it gently in a vise. If you want to borrow it, PM an addy. I'd just like it back when your finished. BTW, this tool from HD is over $400. That's why I made mine. Couldn't see spending that much for a one time deal. |

I've bought HD/Buell Kent Moore tools from Daves in the past. A lot of dealers won't sell them because they are going to cut their service work, but it is great to have a guy like Daves who will take care of us the way he does! 1313 |

Also, Drag Specialties/Parts Unlimited sells those sort of things. Sometimes the SPX/Kent Moore tools are not for retail, but there is a catalog available. If you can get the Jims equivalent to the special tool from SPX/Kent Moore, I'd go that way. |

Max at Traxxion helped with the building of the xb forks, so they should know what's needed. They are one of the best sources for all things suspension related in the US. |

Help! I need to remove the clutch spring from my 2003 XB9R. Motion Pro sells a tool through several on line dealers for about $70.00, but they don't list '03s as being applicable. The list does go all the way back for about a 100 different Harleys plus Buells back to '97. Any body know if they will work? |
