I am thinking about spraying all of my plastics w/ line-x... I thought I saw someone on here do this before but I can't find it now... Anyone have pics of what this will look like? Any close ups? Thanks! |

Get with Nutsosane for some pics as well. His Lightning is done in black and looks pretty durn good (even though I rag on him about it all the time). Now if I could just talk him into scrubbing the bigs out of the crevices it would truly look sharp. |

Looks nice, thinking about picking up a spare set of plastics to swap out every once in awhile. Thanks. |

Angela - was it not possible to tape off the decals? (or did you not care) Hope I'm not being rude, just wondering. |

they told me after i took off the buell logos onthe airbox, that they could spray right over it and it would have looked like raised letters in the linex......they didnt know if it would turn out, but it sure would have been sick looking if it did....wish i would have waited to peel them off until i got to the line x dealer....that would look sickening.... |

Word on leaving the letters on and spraying over it so it will seem embossed. I too am thinking about line-x'ing my plastics, think it looks prety cool. But I love my Amber wheels so I was thinking about putting the Amber letters back on after getting it done, so it will look sort of like stock. |

Brine, I wanted the logo showing, so I could put LED lights under the airbox cover, to illuminate the logo through the city cross translucent cover... He absolutely could have line-x-ed over it, otherwise...but he said he couldn't get tight enough taping to cover the letters individually, either that or he was too lazy.. the tape they use has wire in it, that is how they get it off after spraying and he said he just couldn't get the wire to work that way...had to be a basic design, like what you see. |

I line-exed my 04 xb12s. used some used scratched plastics. I intend on putting it on for track days or trips to keep my custom painted stuff from getting trashed. |

I would NOT coat the frame. That stuff is very heavy and almost a rubber-like compound. The frame gets very hot as it is, and I would fear that the line-x would make this condition worse. You want to keep your fuel as cool as possible for power production so doing something that would warm both it and the oil up more is a big no-no. |

Linex your frame? Seriously, the reasons stated above are good enough for me. |
