I didn't really expect the decals to be a big selling point. They were just something I noticed |

I hear ya S1eric, I had my hopes up way too high. I'm having a hard time deciding on a new bike and thought there would have to be a major new "anything" announced to make my life easier. |

Hey Rubdoggy. It`s ironic that if you want horse power, or a 6th gear you have to look at the HD line up. Not the buell line up. Ya I know OWN THE CORNERS. But the way I look at it why COMPROMISE ! OWN IT ALL (Message edited by S1Eric on July 15, 2006) (Message edited by S1Eric on July 15, 2006) |

Ok, we get it, you're dissatisfied. Moving along, what are they referring to when they say "Tie-down hooks on the tail section make it easy to haul stuff." and show you this picture... I don't see any hooks at all I see some reflectors that get removed in the first 5 minutes of ownership... (Message edited by pwnzor on July 15, 2006) |

Those reflectors ARE the tie down hooks. Notice the slots? Those fittings are quite solid (same as on the Lightning Long) and make a good, sturdy tie down point for bungees or lashing straps. Just Buell's way of getting multiple purposes out of a single piece to save weight. |

For all XB's: Buell further hacked the airbox from the factory and supposedly did some remapping. New oil pump. Good to hear that a few changes other then color were made. It is those little things that matter. Hey, we noticed this little problem and fixed it. Buell should post those little things on the main site. I'd like to hear any other little changes as well. If you are upset about Buell not changing anything this year, other than colors, Don't go looking for a "new" VMax, they've been the same for the last 20 years.... |

Those reflectors ARE the tie down hooks. LOL if those are tie down "hooks" then I am Bugs Bunny. Everything with a reflector on it came off my bike within 10 minutes of being in my driveway. Funny how the website didn't say anything about "tie down hooks" when I bought my bike in '03, so I guess it took them three years to figure out you could slide a bungee hook through it, and call it a "feature". HAHAHAHAHAHAhahahahahahahaha.......hahah...hah... Ok I'm done. |

It's just a set up for when they release the touring version next year! |

Well then, Pwznor... you removed your tie down hooks. What can I say? Unless, as 99buellx1 pointed out, you had a pre-2006 model in which case all you did was remove your reflectors as you say. Me, I not only leave ALL the reflectors in place, I put retroreflective tape wherever I can. I want to be SEEN at night. |

"If you are upset about Buell not changing anything this year, other than colors, Don't go looking for a "new" VMax, they've been the same for the last 20 years...." True, but the VMax was the drag king for quite a while, and you should see the new VMax which is coming soon.... |

How long did Porsche keep refining the 911? There is much to be said for refinement. |

I wouldn't call changing colors a refinement |

There were small mechanical changes as well, as there have been every year. |

There were small mechanical changes as well, as there have been every year yeah, and we're going to be finding and talking about them for the next month. It's all good. |

. . . as the high pressure hot air from the left side scoop pushes too much hot air into the intake vacuum where the slots are under the riders right knee On the '06 the inlet tube through the frame was sealed. All the air moving through the left side scoop now goes straight to the cylinders for cooling. I've thought for some time to cut slots in the LHS as Buell have now done on the '07. And extra slots up near the main air inlet can only help. (But then, so many owners have been opening up their airboxes for so long now!). |

Will the '07 air filter housing/box fit an '06 XB12X? David |

It should be just as easy to cut the 06 box if that's what you have. |
