The cherry bomb airbox cover would look sweet on the all black bike, I'm not sure about the rims, they looks kinda pink at an angle... Must see in person! |

From a glass half full view, my '04 12R looks just as exotic as the new 2007 12R. The black and red does look GREAT. I may need a second set of wheels and plastic to swap from amber to red at every tire change. Let's see.... "Honey, the wheel bearings are worn out on the Buell, looks like I need new wheels." |

WOW! Oh well. BTW that pointy thing on the Bennelli is part of the radiator shroud and fan. Ya know, the thing a lot of people here bitch about not having. It's seems like a shame. I like Buell. I love my bike. And even though the XB is still pretty new, I think they need to update. Hopefully next year brings out something fresh. Not just reworked. And a big for finally putting some real tires on their bikes. |

Now you can get the '07 Toyota Corolla in Red....I thought that was boring too. At least my '03 still looks like the new ones. |

from the article linked above:
quote:"I'm still a racer at heart," explained the former racer during the 2007 model release held in Bakersfield, CA. "I didn't build the bike (XBRR) to go out and win the Formula Xtreme title. I'm looking for a show of competence through racing."

The rear swing arm looks like my longs rear swing arm. I think they changed that, but I don't think it the same length as the long. I am also disappointed that they did not come out with a RLong. |

I also noticed in the pictures, that none of them have rider pegs in the rear? The pegs have been missing from the Buell site pics for as long as I can remember. No change there. All models are delivered with them installed/standard though, if yer wondering. |

For those of you that are new or just don't pay attention, Buell doesn't release a new bike or make big changes to a model line every year. I'm happy with the new colors and would have been shocked if they did much more than that. Sure there's a lot of excitement about the XBRR, but did you really expect to see a street version this year? Besides, I'm looking forward to '08. It makes sense considering the engineering and developmental time it takes to bring the changes we all crave. Consider this. . . the XB9 launched in '03. All new frame, engine, body, etc. The XB12 arrived in '04. Not a real big leap in technology and probably in the works since the beginning of XB planning. The CityX came in '05. Different, nice upgrades, 43mm forks, and other improvements, but nothing really big. Then last year was the greatest advancement since '03, the XB12X, XB12SS, and XBRR. New bikes, new technology. It takes time to develop and bring new bikes to market. I, for one, am very glad that they take their time in designing and developing these bikes. They need successful launches like the Ulysses because it appears there are several people and organizations that would like to see them fail. Thank you, Erik and Company. I will continue to wait patiently for what's to come. |

Actually the xb9r was a early release in 02 the 12 came in 03. Next year we should see something other then a color considering it the 25th anniversary. |

Trivial info - 03, when all of this XB stuff came out, was their 20th anniversary. 08 / 25th ann should indeed be interesting. Who knows enuf Buell history to elaborate/educate us on what if any special releases came on their 5th, 10th, and 15th anniversaries? At least one inquiring mind would like to know... |

The bikes look good, but as some one said, its just colour changes really, you would be better off buying new plastics then a new bike. I understand it takes time to develop etc etc, but come on, we have seen the same hp ratings every year, cant they do something. Plus apparently there is no longer race kits, what the. Its a catch 22, Buell need to go slow because they dont sell that many bikes to cover big development costs, BUT if they had more oomph they would sell twice as many IMO. We already have bikes that can out handle an R1 etc in the twisties, how much fun would it be to stay in front on the straights aswell. Any way good work Buell, cant see anything i dont like apart from being able to choose some colour options, like black XB12R with black wheels etc. Now all we need in Oz is Brag. Are you listening Buell, we need factory support and someone to stock parts and accessories in Australia too. Those sort of changes can make a difference too for each year. |

Why don't you spear head that effort Aussie? You sound like you know what needs to happen. Give Buell a call....and keep us posted. |

Next year we should see something other then a color considering it the 25th anniversary. Actually, Dana, the 25th Anniversary won't be until 2008. The 20th was in '03, as you may remember (one of the parties was at your bar) Anyway, what's the scoop on the 25th? Are you and Tony and Dennis going to get another thing going? We all know what'll happen if we wait for the Mothership to come up with a party. I have an idea for something I can contribute (not drain plugs, this time) that I think people will enjoy. Being old hands at this Rally thing now, and considering that it's the 25th, it'll have to be twice as good as the last one (if such a thing is possible). |

You can save all of the pics from the site. I am making a new sweet screen saver! I was expecting something new, mainly just from how you guys on here carried on, not because I expected Buell to do it. |

There are a couple of changes other than the colors. The decals have a different texture to them as well. The red wheels are translucent like the amber ones were. For all XB's: Buell further hacked the airbox from the factory and supposedly did some remapping. New oil pump. For ULY: Lower stock seat (it feels good). Progressive rate front fork springs. No more bottoming out . |

I've been convinced for some time that the 06 airbox wasn't right. I've been saying for months that I thought they put the inlet slots on the wrong side of the inner cover, as the high pressure hot air from the left side scoop pushes too much hot air into the intake vacuum where the slots are under the riders right knee. Considering that is always the "noisy" side of the bike anyway (valve train and exhaust ports), I was very surprised to see the inlets located there. Also, the inlets on the right side are right against the filter, so the air can't as easily fan out to the other areas of the air filter as it could if the slots were on the left side. Apparently, the Buell engineers have reached the same conclusion. If you look at the side views of the lightnings with the transparent covers, you can see that the inlets into the 07 air boxes are larger, and they are on BOTH sides of the airbox. I think it is a good move. (Message edited by al_lighton on July 15, 2006) (Message edited by al_lighton on July 15, 2006) |

The decals have a different texture to them as well I can`t believe you just posted that. A different texture. No kidding, that will send me to the dealership with money in hand. instead of feeling the decals on my bike. I would rather feel more HP or torque.}} |
