Yeah Stealth and I used that the first time around. I didn't notice any difference.
Does that mean no difference from the DEI kit, or no difference in rider heat protection?
Since the Thermo-Tec kit is near 50% less expensive, which brand would you use next time?
If you would stick with the more expensive DEI kit,… why? |

 WOW!! i got my DEI kit from the local speed shop for about the same price as the thermo0-tec kit listed above. |

I can honestly say, that I wouldn't be able to tell you which brand was on the bike.
Both kept the same amount of heat off my leg.
Both did the job just as well as the other.
no difference in rider heat protection
The kits are different and you can see, feel the difference in material.
The copper in the Summit kit, you could see, and it left some behind as you wrapped.
The DEI kit was the same material only without the copper.
If you would stick with the more expensive DEI kit,… why?
Because I like their clamps, they work well, and you get a bunch extra, and I like that it comes with the silicone spray.
Both come with stickers  |

the spray is a very nice touch. i have never used it until this bike. i have used the DEI wrap before but in cars where no one saw it. the spray makes the deciding factor for me as it has held up EXTREMELY well for being out in the elements. gives it a hard outer shell feel. i also painted my jardine with the DEI spray and it has held up better than the high temp paints i have used before. i baked the muffler after in an old stove i had. seems to be holding up well so far. |

How difficult is applying the spray without overspraying everything else on the bike.
Can it be easily masked off, and done neatly with everything still attached to the bike? |

i installed my header wrap and the spray while still on the bike. it is very easy to do, just a little time is all that is needed. i used news papper and painters tape while applying the spray. piece of cake! |

Easier than that is to just put aluminium foil everywhere you don't want paint. It's way easy to pull off and throw away as well. |

I wrapped mine on Friday. I wet the wrap pretty good to keep down airborne particles. Started at the front cylinder wrapped down to the collector, back up and to the rear cylinder, down to the collector and back up the front to the cylinder head. One roll of 2" and have spare. The wife and I put 500 miles on it this weekend. Tremendous difference in heat on the right side. I will spray them this week, now that they are good and dry.
