http://www.schpaa.com/buell/movies_show.asp?film=x1.wmv This is the Buell marketing film for the x1. It looks like this guy is going a little fast on 1 or two of his willies. I know the film is sped up but at least around the end looks likes he is moving fast. source http://www.schpaa.com/buell/gallery.asp (Message edited by mmmi_grad on July 09, 2006) |

This may help a little, but keep in mind these are European videos and use European spec bikes ('speedo' goes up to 220 KPH). I got these screenshots from the copy of the original Buell Europe marketing CD. Here's the X1 in the wheelie:
Closer view of gauges:
To get some idea of the 'lay of the land' on the Euro 'speedo', here is a screenshot of the X1 and M2 on what appears to be an urban expressway:
And a closer view of it:
This, and the fact that 62 MPH = 100 KPH should be enough to have a rough idea of how fast the bike was going. 1313 |

I only do them in 1st or 2nd gear so probably no faster than 35mph. I have unintentionally pulled the front wheel accelerating on an onramp at maybe 60. Only a few inches but it's exciting. |

I just installed a barnett scorpion clutch in my s3 and while testing it last night it pulled the front wheel shifting into 3rd gear. |

"I just installed a barnett scorpion clutch in my s3 and while testing it last night it pulled the front wheel shifting into 3rd gear." For some strange reason, I'm not surprised. |

Hey smadd,I was reading some old archives in the tech forum and seen your name.did you get my pm?I also figured out what the problem was with the trans kicking out every once in a while.the primary chain shoe had broken and a piece of it was stuck behind the detent. You should stop by sometime and ride this thing with the scorpion clutch in it.WOW!I am pretty sure I am getting all of the power to the ground now.If you get a chance call me at the shop or on my cell |

I replied two days ago to your PM! I wonder if there was a problem with the e-mail address I used. I'm sure I have a copy in my "sent mail" folder... I'll try re-sending. Boy... do I feel silly... "broken shoe"!!! And I put up with that for how many miles???!!! So... "all the power to the ground", eh? Like it?!! LOL I'll stop on by some time in the near future... or you stop by the house. I know this weekend is busy with the "Make a Wish" event. |

"What is the fastest speed you can hit and still pop the front end up." No one actually answered the question... about 45mph on my M2. 2nd gear, pop the clutch, use a little weight transfer with your body... and hang on. |
