I can't believe how quickly he got up after smakin' head on the pavement without a helmet - what an idiot. |

That last one was right in front of a LEO!!! How darn funny is that? Should have just pulled over and given the cop his atm card. |

He could always say the bike got away from him.... He'd be right too. Now why it got away would be the tricky part. |

Weird one - It looks to me like there was at least two seconds between the start of the slow left turn and the impact, and the biker didn't seem to be braking hard or even trying to evade - a bit of a swerve to the right might have saved the day. Obviously the cager was in the wrong, but it seems like maybe the biker could have saved himself some real pain by being alert and riding defensively. It sure sucked to see how nobody seemed to care very much about the biker; cars calmly drive on by, and other people don't seem to be in much of a hurry to help the poor guy... |

yeah, there should have been plenty of time for evasive maneuvers by the rider. |

Well, we are seeing it from the side, which looks much different than from head on. It does look like our fellow biker was traveling too fast for the road. Think about, unless the guy was high, drunk, or other wise incapacitated, he should of reacted, but he didn't. Just something to think about... Towards the end of the video, people our scurrying about in haste... |

Been there done that. I had virtually the same accident in '83 and I'm positive in retrospect that I could have avoided it if I had been expecting it and traveling slower. Still the car's fault, but that didn't help me through a coma and 6 months of physical therapy. Be aware out there folks. They're all trying to kill you! As for my take on the video, the people were moving slowly at first probably because they were stunned and also probably because it happened so fast, they didn't know where the cyclist went. My guess is he came to rest 100 feet down the road somewhere. I hope he didn't smack the curb like I did. He was moving pretty good. |

Yeah, I ride with the assumption that every cager I see is going to pull out in front of me... am I overly conservative??? dunno, but it keeps me alive. |

that one is great, someone posted it earlier but I love watching it. A few years back I was looking at a used Vmax at a local dealer in Long Beach Ca. I'm standing there with the salesman when a guy comes charging into the parking lot on a brand new Valkyrie, fails to stop in time, and crashes into the other end of the row of used bikes from where I was standing. Turns out, his wife hadn't approved the purchase of the motorcycle and ordered him to take it back. Well I guess he stopped at the bar on the way back to the dealer because he was tanked to the point where we could smell it when we all walked up to help lift the bike. The sales manager comes out and yells "nobody touch it I'm calling the police right now!" so we all backed off. Anyway, he left under arrest and a city tow flatbed took the bike away. It's one of those times when you tell yourself "never leave the house without a camera"... |

I have lost count of the number of times I've seen people pick up their new motorcycles only to watch them drop or crash the bike in the parking lot. Almost always, these folks buy bikes that are too big and/or too powerful for them... added to this, they don't know how to ride or "rode a few times on my buddies dirt bike." I think riders training should be mandatory. All the videos are great... Thanks for sharing them! |
