I just had my tps reset with my race ecm. First thing I noticed was that the idle seemed high, but according to service manual it's correct at about 1050 rpm. The problem is that when slowing down and downshifting the motor seems very slow in slowing down. Almost like it gets hung up about 2500 rpm. It's noticeable enough to be quite different in trying to stop or slow down. As I use this bike at the track, I'm not comfortable with the feeling. I'm going to guess that it has something to do with the idle, but I lowered the idle speed and that didn't seem to help. Also, when I get on the throttle off idle there is a cough if I do it quickly. If I just roll it on it seems ok. Throttle cables seem ok, and everything snaps closed when the throttle is released. Any suggestions? |

I experienced this recently after installing the race kit on my 12R. I also had rough idle when cold and the rpm hanging problem. I reset the TPS via my PDA and scan tool software twice without the problems going away. Third time I reset the TPS with the laptop and scan tool software. Problem was gone! I also had some miles between the resets, so the ECM may have been learning air/fuel rations too, but the third TPS reset most certainly corrected the problem of rpm hanging and cold starts/rough idle when cold. So from my experience I would have the dealer reset the TPS again. (Message edited by gowindward on July 12, 2006) |

Just got it back, and it seems o.k. though I haven't had a chance to ride it more than a couple of k's |
