Hey Keith, Let's see, in order asked... The pictures are still on my hard drive, I've managed to sort Saturdays' shots, average images per race that will be shown is about 35 or so. (125+ pictures - phew!) Sunday I still have to get into, but I decided to get the first day sorted and ready, then take a short break after putting them up. The track day was pretty good. I still need to work on T-5 and T-10 - both still make me feel like I'm jerky and loosing too much power before the exit so I'm bogged down on the other side, I'll have to get with you guys about how to take those turns smoother.. I'm only getting through T-10 at around 80 and KNOW you guys hit it a lot faster.. So I should be able to go a bit faster as well, just have to figure out how (a little help here please? ). However I think I've got a handle on some other parts of the track.. At first, I kept getting caught in the traditional White Group Traffic - T-8
Some times, I'd have a clear path I could have taken..
But the rules say, no inside passes... so I was good.. for the most part (especially when the camera was there!) Then, I had a few good ideas. I got a little more aggressive going down the chute to T-5 and all the way through to T-9 - This let me pass some of the slower ART Basic and other White group riders.
Then, watching T-1 if I saw the train forming.. I'd roll off the throttle and let them all go.. It took T-1 from This -
To This -
Right after the lunch break it was searingly hot - Not like I don't have to tell you what it's like there.. so I kep cool the best way I could.. on the track..
This guy paid me a great compliment..
He said while he had me on the straight.. once I'd passed him going into T-5 he couldn't keep up.. I suggested he try my line.. he said he did.. three times and couldn't ride it..
BUELLS ROCK! So, one of the guys with his race bike.. told me that he paced me for the last two laps of the session.. I was running 1:43's which he said was pretty good for a white group rider on Summit Main. Yeah, I'm only what, 35 seconds (or so)off the winning race pace? Sat out one session (heat was getting to me) then finished up the day and headed home.. Knowing I'm doing what I set out to do.. getting smoother.. more control.. and having a absolute riotous good time doing it! Thanks for asking..
Pictures taken from Race Day Photo - Thanks Dennis! (Message edited by BluBlak on July 07, 2006) |

You're a little better than that Blublak, I think the track record is about 1:13 or so done a few weeks ago. Anyone going to the the track days at Summit Point on the 16th or 23rd? I'll be there, hope to see other Buellers. |

As promised, I did it a little different this time and after checking al the rules..so to speak.. I've posted them on my own web pages. To see the first days shots, (still working on Sunday) go too.. http://web.mac.com/p_migala/ I call it.. 'Under the Black Hat' .. for those of you that have seen me out shooting, you know where the name comes from.. |
