Thansesxb9rs... So far you are in line behind my fiancee and my son for "Bimmer" sitting. The problem for you all is... it was purchased for business travel. The CR-V just had too little power, not the best ride, and the wrong look for the corporate client. I am often dealing with corporate officers like CEOs, Presidents and Vice Presidents of companies... and the like now. I needed something to give the appearance I fit in. (All of you are now saying... "Dennis, fit in with that bunch?" Wow!!!) Yes, it is hard to believe, but I clean up OK to fool them, and have figured out a way to at least appear to fit in. I speak yuppie! I have you on the list just in case though.

Really... how droll!! A Beemer is a motorcycle. A Bimmer is a car. Peasants are so quaint. I must relate this to Buffy! She will be so amused telling the story at the tennis club as to the peasants not knowing the difference between a Beemer and a Bimmer! (All said in my best Thurston Howell III accent)

Dennis, Don't forget to lift your pinky while sipping your tea, and eating your bologena sandwich!! Does this mean you will be selling the quaint mansion you live in now to move up, or will you still be making improvements to the dungeon (aka Bike Shop). |

Naw... no big change. I needed a nice car to go with my expensive wrist watch, to have the expected look for the clients. When they get a retired U.S Marshal from a big security firm, they are paying for more than just the service they contracted. It is all about image. No major changes. Sharon bummed out when I told her the BMW would be parked in the garage when it was not being used for the job. The generous mileage allowance helps make the payment & fill it with premium gas. Just some tools for my new job. |

The fact that it goes really fast and handles like a sports car had absolutely nothing to do with why I bought it!

Nice post James...I would do that if I were still up in KC. Being from Topeka, I know all too well of the Phelps family and their cult church. On a brighter note, are you still planning on coming to Tulsa? (Message edited by dtx on July 05, 2006) |

By the way, I flushed my brake fluid and replaced the front pads...wow!...it feels like a totally new bike again. I highly recommend this sometimes "overlooked" maintenance item. Also, if you do this and have never done it before, PLEASE get ahold of me for some pointers. I know WAY TOO MUCH about hydraulic brakes after that task... |

Hello KC! It’s been a while. Work has been hectic and I’ve been away from my S1 for a while. I did ride up to NYC and back to DC over Memorial Day. Longest solo ride I’ve ever done and the bike did great. About 60mpg when all highway. 93 octane on the Jersey Turnpike is 5 cents cheaper than 87 octane in DC! Don’t ever say there is no good thing about Jersey. I know Drake has moved to OOOOOOOOOOOklahoma, and I saw some new names. Did Dusty end up moving? Warren is trying to sell his bike to make bigger knives? I saw the pics of Larry and Drake at the track. Cool Shit! Anything else going on? Where is JJ? Anyway, I’ve been wanting a project bike for a while now that my bike is in perfect working order (funny how that can be a bad thing) and found a chopper shop nearby that buys repoed and wrecked Harleys and Buells. So I bought an ’03 XB9R off of them that was half dismantled by the owner before it was repoed. One of the things I do plan on doing is the R/S tail swap with another badwebber that wants to trade. Can you give me some pointers, Tim? I miss you guys. The riding around here sucks! |

Hey Rob! Still alive I see...sounds like u got a cool project ahead of you. Wish I had those resources, I'd love to build either a Buell stunt bike or track bike. Yeah me, Tim, and JJ are still bumpin into each other at the house, along with Larry sometimes...been ridin a lot! Anyways, good to hear from ya. Post up some pics of your progress if you get a chance. In case you ever get homesick, here's a pic in front of our house one day when James' bike happened to be over at Larry's.

Rob, It is a pretty simple to swap the R tail for the S. If you get a complete tailsection all you should need to buy is a brake resivor for an S. But it will bolt right up. Ya I can't think of any problems I had doing it. But if you do come up with a problem just let me know and I will go look at mine. |

Wildass dude on a motorcycle in Independence, imagine that. Like a little meth with that 92 octane son? I was in Lawrence on the X1W today, got a good alibi and witnesses. |
