JC Whitney as well as others sell a relaceable bulb type housing so you can use brighter bulbs... It is a standard automotive size... The S3 is too small.. |

Al at American Sport Bike has those S2 housings I believe. Then you can use standard H4 bulbs which is a good improvement. If you want to go hog wild, Rider Wearhouse sell an HID H4 replacement kit. Pricey, but should give you a ton more light. I called to ask how they make it work with the Hi/Low. Apparently the bulb has a motor that moves the bulb in and out to change the beam. Henrik |

Al, have you looked into HID kits yet? My concern with the HID H4 replacement is 1) durability of a mechanical hi/low device 2) accuracy of bulb placement i.e. of headlight aiming 3) time lag between high and low beam. A lot of unanswered questions for $227 ... Henrik |

I believe you can get most HID bulbs in different color temperatures. 3800K is like your "warm white" fluorescent, 4300K is "cool white". Around 5500 is considered "daylight" etc. The 8300K bulbs become blue-ish purple. Henrik |
