Author Message   Nguzzi Posted on Wednesday, June 28, 2006 - 06:47 pm:        I had my Arai helmet damaged by the heat that was built up under the tail section. I locked my helmet up after a 150 mile ride without thinkin about all the heat under the tail section. I did place a call in to Buell tech services about it. I have not experienced the problem but normally only riding about 10 - 20 miles at a time. It's such a battle with mine every time that I've pretty much given up on using it. My KBC VR1 Euro will BARELY fit on the lock, but it's so tight I'm unable to turn and remove the key. An extender ($6 for two at CycleGear) solved the problem, but I've always worried about the heat coming off the engine, so I've never really used it. Yes, it's nearly as useless as the one on my old Honda VTX1300. I've used it a couple of times, with much fumbling. I tried the helmet lock once and couldn't figure it out.
