I just bought a new D204F Dunlop for the front (120/70/17) for my X-1. I just saw (on a website) that it is "not recommended" to mix Dunlop types. Recently I put a D208 on the rear; the original Dunlop (on the front) is tired. Will there be any issues with the D204 and D208 together?? I can't imagine there being any problem but I wanted to post this question to the group. Thanx in advance. 2000 X-1 (Red Stripe Edition)} |

I run the 208 qualifiers, and loved them, though, down where I am now, no need for the super sticky/soft tires..and they are wearing super fast(a nice cool day liek today, is only 91* and its 540pm) But, if you are running the Dunlops, I definately agree with not mixing them... just take it easy in ahrd truning/braking, as the front is a bit harder of a tire, than the rear.... Wish I could offer more help... Carbon Kevlar Edition #249 of 250 Chase (Message edited by chasespeed on June 27, 2006) |

Consider that the 204's were obsolete about six years ago and have been replaced by two subsequent product lines. You are going to run a (new) old (possible harder aged rubber) sport touring (harder compound for longevity) with a new street/race tire (sticky). |

if finnances allow I would not place dunlops on the cycle, even the 205s don't wear well, Mixing those dunlops is not a good choice for the equipment, balance the cheap tires against the cost of repairs // medical care in the event of an accident. One of our number narrowly missed getting killed in a tire failure incedent I believe that it was Mountian Rider that went down way hard, destroyed His XB too. your ride your hide |
