When I read the XB9SX specs it said the instruments were illuminated by a blue light, well we all know they aren't, that's kinda boring, yellowish lights, has anyone done something cool to their speedo other than changing graphics? like switching for LEDs, or maybe something like a glogauge, electroluminiscent stuff... Well, if not, any ideas?? For someone who came from a bike with a digital instrument cluster, i just gotta do something about it! Thanks! |

It may be as simple as changing the bulbs?? Don't know what kind of bulbs are used in the XBs, but on my SV I found colored T2 (I believe) LED bulbs and replaced the stockers. Now have red light in my gauges. Henrik |

The XB dash bulbs are a T1 Neowedge I've had no luck finding a bulb available in a different color. |

I dunno, if anybody knows wich bulbs illuminate the cluster would be awesome. ------- Just answered above. Humm, here in brazil people usually make some adaptations using LEDs for dash lighting and drl, ill check with them if they can make one for me, plain white would be awesome. not yellowish. Anybody have a picture of the bulb or the open dash? (Message edited by cacciola on June 18, 2006) |

If that works that would be awesome, I wonder if you can get them in different colors? |

I emailed StarLED months ago, never got a response. I believe 8 bulbs isn't a significant enough order for them to respond to. |

Cacciola: The bulb you need is the Neowedge base, not a flange base. It also has to be the short T1 version or the bulb will be too tall to seat correctly in the dashboard. http://www.starled.com/new/new_products.html Scroll down, second from the bottom, bulb on the right. |

Attached CAD diagram of bulb dimensions. IIRC these bulbs are available in bulk orders directly from Taiwan. (I don't need 500 bulbs!)
