Jim, Haven't stumbled upon any hearses in Wichita, yet... Based on the AWESOME 4 wheeled vehicles of all sorts (lots of kick arse Rat Rods all over the place - air bagged 63 Lincoln Continental, bare metal chopped, channeled and sectioned 29 A-bone, suede flamed 57 Chevy, and on, and on, AND ON!!!) Wichita is NOT short on CULTURE (or should I say KULTURE?)! I got a feeling that my DED SLD would fit in quite well... Buell's all over the freakin' place (well compared to Eastern NC)! Today I've seen dang near every Buell model made (well, except an RW 750, RR's, RS/RSS, S2 or XBRR). I met up with Tom_b last night and a buddy of his (who also has an X1). Both are GREAT people! So is it Buell's or BadWeb that draws the GREAT people? You tell me? Hard call to make, if you ask me. I got one question that someone may be able to answer... How is it a cover band can play both Bon Jovi and KISS?!?! Strangest thing I ever heard... Sure wish I could make New River's shindig...Whoever makes it - HAVE FUN and TAKE PICTURES! 1313 |

Okay, made it out there today and I have the sunburn of sunburns to prove it. I went off and forgot the lotion. I've got a ton of pictures, and wish I could host my videos. I'll try to get them downsized and posted before I head out Monday. I went straight from the event to work tonight and I have work Sunday night too. Oh, not only did I bring home pictures, but I brought home the 2nd place trophy for the Buell category. I sure wish some of ya'll could have showed up. Honestly, there weren't too many Buells there. As a matter of fact, there were only TWO Buells participating in the show. The guy who took first has a 2000 X1, the red/white race stripe edition. It's chromed out, polished, carbon fiber, etc... He mentioned that he's thinking about selling it. I told him to check out BadWeb and post it here. |

Brankin, Goodguys was in town this weekend at IRP, too bad it rained. Still, there were all kinds of rods running around. So, how'd things go with Big Dog? Rode to Nashville Indiana Thursday, and boy, oh boy did I find a ROAD!!!! Indiana 135 south from Nashville is FREAKIN AWESOME!!! It is for all intents and purposes, a mountain pass type slab of asphalt. The only thing it lacked was switch-backs. It runs through the hills then across a valley then back up the other side. Along the way some of the sights are cool too. The best was the town of Story. All that's there is a bed and breakfast with a "general store" restaurant that looks like a movie set from the Waltons or something. As I started out on it, I was stuck behind a Gold Wing trying it's best but Dave was getting bored, so it was "see-ya" at the first possibility and off on a tear I went. The road snaked through the trees and I was grinning ear to ear. Nice combination of sweepers and twisties. Thinking this is cool then the road makes a right and runs through the valley right on the ridge and things got fun fast. Indiana doesn't believe in leveling the land for roads, they just pave over what ever the topography is, so this thing has become a roller coaster. Up, down, the into a turn then around a bend then up over in a turn, etc, so on, so forth. It was awesome. Then comes the turn at Story, then on across the valley then on up the other side in a series of esses each one getting tighter. I got about 20 miles down the road when it straightened out some and I could see off on the horizon the potential for more but I'd just had so much fun, I spun around and went back for a second attack. After tearing it up on 135 for a while , I cruised through Nashville. It's a little tourist town full of days past charm and blocks on end of gift shops. I'd gone there as a kid on a family vacation and remember it as such, but not as upscale. Tried to go ride around Brown Co. State Park but they wanted $4 for a day pass! No thanks, I'll turn around and headed north toward Indy on 135. It's just nice sweepers for miles then straightens out from then on. I peeled off an worked my way back toward Columbus In. and stopped at a Yamamha dealer there. Low and behold, they had a nice S-1 on the floor. So I drooled over it for a while the decided, Dave's hungry-needs Skyline. I plotted a coarse for Greensburg (the problem with that was, I forgot the Skyline was in Batesville much further east) rode on! Got to Greensburg when I realized my mistake. The day was getting late, so I abandoned the Skyline quest(with a whimper and a sigh) and beat tracks back toward Shelbyville, maybe I can catch 'P' before she leaves work so on to I-74 and run 5 over prevailing traffic, which was running 85 mph. Had a guy on a CBR pull along side and challenge me, him pointing down the road, I wave, look ahead, and whoosh, he's gone-Sucker!! I watched him fly off into the distance, like I'm stupid enough to race him in a straight line. Now let me find him on 135, and Katie bar the door! He's toast. Made it back in time, had dinner with 'Letta, and disturbed the neighbors taking the back way home. Defector-Director |

I'm leaving July 7th and heading West. I'm gonna play some in the NC mountains then head to Nashville and pick up the Natchez Trace Parkway. It runs about 500 miles diagonally through Mississippi to the SW corner of MS. I'll then head east along another scenic byway, turn South and pick up a Ferry to the Barrier Islands. I'll follow the Barrier to Orange Beach, Alabama and meet my family/inlaws for a week at the Gulf. Then another 3-4 day tour coming home. If anybody wants to ride to the mountains or meet for some part of this, let me know. I have no route planned for the return tour. |

Rubberdown - That is my vacation week in July. All I have to do is convince Kristi that I can drop her off at the beach then I can ride the rest of the week! (Believe that right!) Anyway - we have a cottage on the beach rented with a pool and hot tub. If you guys happen to ride toward Emerald Isle, give me a call. |

Testing... Type in "CCC" (without the quotes, case sensitive) and get... "Carolina Corner Carvers." Thanks to Jin Nance for the suggestion. |

Hi fellow Tarheels. I just want to introduce myself. I purchased an 06 XB12s yesterday from HD of High Point. I wrote a longer summation of my experience on the XB board and was invited to come on over. I LOVE this bike! It has been ~5 years since I last rode a motorcycle (GSXR750) and that was a one day thing. I was a little nervous about mounting and riding it, but I rolled off without a hitch. I put about 70 miles on it yesterday evening/night in some light rain and wouldn't you know it, the temp tag is MIA. Unfortunately, it is raining cats and dogs now so all I can do is sit in my garage and fawn over it. I am going to spend some time getting familiar with my bike and then I will look to come out and play with some of you guys. No buyers remorse here, this bike is GREAT! Eric |

Just added the ability for folks to create new threads within the main page here. See the "Start New Thread" link at the bottom of the subtopic/archive list atop the page. Now that Greg (Bigdaddy) has bravely agreed to come on board as a custodian, he can do all kinds of fun stuff with the place here. |

Welcome Eric - 1313 and I are the co-directors of the official BRAG side of things. I mention this because C3 is not the conventional BRAG club. Our host dealer is Shelton's HD/ Buell in Goldsboro, but has three open stores (Durham, Smithfield and Goldboro) and is opening a fourth in Henderson. This allows us to have a large area of central to eastern North Carolina. So our range is huge. Even though some of us carry Brag membership, we are mostly a Badweb group. Our first four members all met here and we then pushed to make C3 "Official." As a Badweb group we covers most of the state with members like Big Daddy out in Pumpkin Center to 1313 in New Bern and the rest of us in between. We also have what we call C3-Friends that ride other brands of motorcycles. We are an inclusive group mainly because Rubberdown is on a constant test ride and you never know what he is going to show up on, and many of our couples have Harleys and Buells. We get together for big and small rides which you can check out some of our adventure pictures over the past two years on our Adventures page. On the same page you can see what we are planning next. We are presently planning a C3 Adventure to Western North Carolina, specifically Boone. We have a ball when we are together, riding or relaxing. I can safety say that all on this board are great and I am very happy with how our little group has grown. Welcome again and if you have any questions please feel free to PM me C3 Co-Director, Kristi (Ulywife) Cruise Director or Brankin (1313) Co-Director. |
