Well My pot settings were: 1=3.5 2=7 3=6 4=7.5 Plm. is When I hit 4500-5000 rpms. and up it falls on its face=No Power If I take it up slow it seems like it will take it up to red line. Changed pot3 to=off, thinking too much fuel in that rpm range and I think pot 3 changes things around there. Took it for a blast steady over 3500 rpm`s for 5 mins. or so ...Shut it off. restarted and see if it got better , Still the same... Its werid as it seems go up slow in the revs. ok , Hit it harder and starts to stutter and makes no power after 4500 or so...Any Ideals, even IF we can rule out the TFI all together what else might it be//??? Thanks |

Hogs.....it's my understanding that there is an update available for the Buell TFI. If I remember right you have to send the unit to them and they re-flash the update into it's memory. Maybe you should check and see if this will fix your problem. |

Thanks Indy_bueller, Yes I was aware of that ,But all I think it does is add more fuel per notch on the pots... I`m not sure if its a TFI plm. at all yet, I almost think IF I take it off all together it wd. still give the same results,Although I just changed the one pot setting for now... Perhaps Its not related ...Then what else might it be??? Changing pot 3 made no difference from 6 to off? |

Never overlook the possibility of water in the gas. |

Kurosawa, Yes you are right, or bad gas in general, However I don`t think it would just be at 4500 rpms and over and only IF I get hard on it,Taking it easy it seems to climb up the revs. not bad But not much fun for me LoL... |

Not sure But IF I am cruising at say 3500 rpms., and then slowly rev it to 4500 and on it takes it ok..Atleast it seems ok, However, If I`m at 3500 and Hit it harder goes to around 4500 or so and Doesn`t make any power Something holding it back? LAck of fuel or too MUCH??? When does the MAp take over is it around 45oo or so,or Just when you hit it hard or???? When wd. I Not be reading the 02 sensor and running on the map what rpms??? I`m willing to try just about anything, And No Dynos here like that so this is mostly on myself to get worked out,and ofcourse with help from all of you out there :-)) |

So lets say when one hits the rpms at 4500 plus does it just read the map now on WOT,and does not read the 02 sensor at all??? And what IF one slowly increases the throttle say from around 3500/4000 and goes past 4500/5000 and up does it also just read the map and no 02 Sensor ( this is easy on the gas,Not WOT??? Just trying to understand where this 4500/5000 magic rpm range is and if its counting on the 02 sensor or stored Map for data for fuel etc.?? |

Hogs, This Bison is such an unknown factor, If none of these other suggestions work(turning the first three pots off, etc.) how about "strickly for a short test" re-installing the stock ECM. You really need acess to a dyno, or atleast give up on this Bison until you can get to a dyno....Charlie |

start FRESH and from the BEGINING. how is your battery? TEST IT? do that first now reset you TPS. Even if you had it done not long ago. do it again. they are cheap, and better if you have the software. reset you a/f value to 100. go for a good ride above the 3500 rpm range so it can relearn itself. now explain what is actually happening, AFTER all this has been done. you may need to check further items after this..stAtic timing, plugs, wires, loose connections etc. but "I" would do these first. there may be more than one problem, but you should be able to narrow it down after these check to be okay. have you tried running w/o the TFI hooked up yet? i would be tempted to do that also. maybe do that FIRST on the list. let us know how things are going from there. |

Chris, I spoke to Kevin about your problem and he suggests the following settings as a starting point: 4, 7, 4.5, 8.5. The last one being the most critical as it limits the ability of the ECM to compensate. He also said to call him if you have any questions. I forgot to say that at the Pocono track day I went to, my friend had messed with his TFI and his bike was doing just what yours is doing. I called Kevin and he had me adjust the TFI and the guy's bike ran perfectly after that. (Message edited by JerseyGuy on June 12, 2006) |

Thanks for all the info guys, I had the tps reset today Damn 60.00 bucks for nothing, Took Beson exhaust off Now putting back My original Exhaust I was running with no plms. As I was doing that I noticed that the three prong plug that comes from the regulator was Not Clicked in, Don`t know if that wd. do it ,will try all tomorrow and see what happeneds... Thanks again............. |

Well guys, thanks for tuning in here with all, Not sure IF it was the Regulater plug (3), or I noticed that the intake rubber horn,May have not been seated that last 1/8 of a inch or so, still being able to clamp the large clamp around to secure it in place, Hmmm Maybe, anyways I can see that could easy happened and not making sure IF you seated it all the way down. Which IF that were the case the top of the horn wd. have been that much closer to the air filter upper lid... Guess that could restrict or atleast change the flow of air coming in.... And not to mention the beson header system not being dialed in Damn don`t ya hate it when it could have been all three or any of the above.. Hey To make this long story short, all is well once again 2nd gear roll ons in Vacant parking lots of course.... Thanks again...Chris |

Glad you got going again Chris. My moneys still on the exhaust. Im sure it looked cool, but if it wont run what good is it? If you ever get it on a dyno, Id love to know what it takes to make the bison work. Go ride the darn thing, you worked on it long enough.......Charlie |

Hey Cyclonecharlie, Thanks Buddy, well strange thing is It worked good for a couple of weeks off and on riding, then All things broke lose,YEah it SURE looks good buddy,Nice and Quiet around town, But as soon as ya crack it its as loud or louder than my Force LoL, Got to get one of them data logger things you know, to see where the A/F is all the time and a dierct link, and and, Yeah it all adds up $$$$ At 275.00 plus for dyno time That adds up too... Especially if one goes with the 1450 bore kit/cams etc.etc. down the road....Then I think the Beson will roar... |
