When I start my S2 in gear she wants lerche forward like i dont have the clutch fully engaged...also its hard starting like my battery is low. but when running and i put in gear with clutch engaged there is no slippage. when shes in neutral there is no prob at all. what would be the problem? thanks |

Poor clutch and/or cable adjustment. |

Mine started to do that when my clutch cable was about to pop. I was down to three strands up at the lever and it was enough to make the clutch out of adjustment. Check yours up topside where the lever is, they seem to go there most often. |

Also could be the spring plate in the clutch if still installed |

True. my spring clutch plate thing lasted to 55,000 miles. The little rivets jammed it up pretty well. The symptoms matched too. |

I agree, it sounds an awful lot like the spring plate in the clutch. Mine lasted 17,000 miles and came apart during a riding class. Dragging and lurching were the biggest issues, the condition also caused too much load on the shift forks in my transmission, they ended up gouged. I fixed that too and put in a baker smooth shift kit. It's not too hard to fix, a bunch of bolts and most any mechanic could do it in an afternoon. Good Luck! |
