JimN - the adventure is Western NC. I think this leaves us pretty open to the area, as long as its not flat or straight. Just like when we were at Suches, Deals Gaps is just a drive down the road. May take you 1-1 1/2 hours to get there, but I don't think anyone will complain. Boone is appealing because there are things to do when Rebecca and I don't want to ride, but have to option to do an afternoon ride with you guys. Maybe this will be appealing to other wives who decide to come along. I'm open, so lets take a vote: Boone area Asheville area Deals Gap area other suggestions??? Kristi |

I'd prefer Boone just because I don't get there as often as I do Asheville. 'Course . . . I won't be riding the twisties, so as long as there's somewhere I can hang out, drink, and sing 70's songs, it's aaaaaall good. |

Boone, Blowing Rock, easy BRP access, excellent local roads abound -- I know I'm just a western fringe wannabe member G2 |

Hey Kristi, I'm sure I'll have company -- don't know who at this time. I need to look at my wife's schedule and see if she can attend. She's based out of the house and works every other week,,,hospice nurse,,so it's pretty tough to project out that far. My little buddy Boog (son) will be along for the ride. Jen just started her new profession as a deputy sheriff in Lincolnton County (we can really flog them in the western part of the county now :-) ) and she's on some kind of training schedule to December. Sounds good -- I'm hoping everyone else will "vote" soon and I'll start trying to find a cabin in that area. So far it's looking like the Boone area. How far are you from Boone? |

Uh, well, hadn't really thought about it. I'm using her $30K sheepskin to cover the 'bang my freaking head up against the wall' indentations/holes. (just kidding,,I'm very proud of her,,,just not my first pick,,,key word being "my.") G2 |

Too bad these are too small to actually read. But they are just for ideas anyway. I wouldn't recomend following either of them literally. The northern loop was my favorite. The most scenic part is on Hwy 58, which runs through Grayson Highlands St Park in VA: This eventually takes you to Damascus and Shady Valley. Another case of "picture is worth a thousand words." I sat on a motorcycle for the first time in July of 2004. In September I was in Boone doing "Running The Ridge." I can't believe I rode those roads with 8 weeks of riding experience. But I had a great time. Hey, look what I found while looking for picts:

3 girls, 9 guys, 1 hot tub. Hmmm OK that was the deal breaker, I'm out! Then I remebere'd what Jim said We'll have to keep U4 away from the ASU girls. So I'm back in. Those roads look sweet Jim. Have to do some research on some good routes to take. Sounds like Boone is going to be fun. Has anyone thought about posting over in the 3% section to see if anyone wants to join us? Just a thought. ps never mind, I done it already. (Message edited by u4euh on June 12, 2006) |

http://www.witsendrentals.com/pages/property.php?id=18 Look familiar to those who went to Suches?? The basement is finished in this cabin with a sleeper sofa and another bedroom. This cabin unfortunately does not have a hot tub, but the owners plan to put one in when they recover financially from the past hurricanes (they live in FL). The cabin is 4 bedrooms/3 bathrooms. We will still need to bring 2-3 air mattresses or sleeping bags. The beds are as follows: 3 Queens, 2 Twins, 1 Full Sleeper sofa and 1 Queen Sleeper sofa. I have to put 1/2 down at reservation and the balance probably 2 weeks before checking in. The total for the 2 nights stay is $548.05. This is who I have planning to stay at the cabin: Jlnance - 2 M2nc - 2 Aydenxb9 - 2 Twig - 1 Cyclone - 1 Bigdaddy - 1 + 1 big kid Xb9ser - 1 U4euh - 1 Rubberdown - 1 I'd like to make this reservation ASAP. So I'm asking for a final commitment and then I'll post our address and $$ per person for the weekend. Thanks, Kristi (AKA Cruise Director/BIC) |
