Whats up guys.Im Webe.Im a member of C3 (Carolina Corner Carvers. My wife laid her 2000 (Red) Blast down Sunday after noon. She is ok, Got up and walked away and all she had was a 3/4" strawberry on her left knee. The blast on the other hand didn't fair so good.We have A, possibly A pair of bent fork tubes. The speedo bracket, fairing ,head light assy.and fairing brackets took a big hit too. In turn the handle bars are bent too. The body work has some deep scrapes but is the least of my concern at this time.I just want to get it back on the road for my wife and myself. self I didn't bother with my insurance or the local dealer because I was afraid that they would total it.The bike over all is still in great shape, I rode it on the trailer. It just has road rash. If anyone has any suggestions ,ideas or parts just let me know. Thanks, Webe |

Welcome to the board Webethumpin, Stock Blast seats go really cheap on Ebay, $25. I saw a set of bent forks on there last night. I have a set of stock bars, but I would recommend that you go to a set of Superbike Bars from Chapparell, they are only $12 and are the bars that are supposed to be on the Blast. Check that the front forks are just not "Tweeked" in the triple trees, if they are its a simple fix to straighten them out. Also make sure the Strawberry on your wifes knee is not down to the bone. Its better to be safe than sorry, as a bone infection has the potential to mess things up permanently. |

Forks - Ebay - though they could just be twisted in the tripple tree - the rest is easy fabrication or trading - for instance - thick plexiglass will work for the gauge holder and you can buy aftermarket lighting and brackets that bolt on cheap, or find somebody from here to trade/buy, but all of the parts are pretty cheep and Dave gives a BADWEB disco, and Chicago HD gives a net 10% disco - thank goodness Blasts are cheap to fix! GT - JBOTDS! EZ |

Welcome Webe!...I have Complete Headlight assembly like new $30 Stock bars like new $10 I also have a set of like new stock mirrors $15/pair. Fairing brackets bend back real easy but are about $9 each new.The speedo housing is also real cheap or $40 for aluminum on ebay. Complete turn signals are also about $6 each, new. Spend the $220 on a Corbin-your wife will thank you! Let me know if your interested in the headlight assembly, bars or mirrors; prices + shipping. PS I'll take a partial trade if you still have the cover from your recall sprocket that busted. (I'll buy it, trade or not) (Message edited by gearheaderiko on June 07, 2006) |

I have some body parts that I'll let go cheap. They're yellow under the black paint. The paint's performance has been poor, so I think it should come off real easy. $125 shipped for all four pieces, but you have to wait until I get my new parts, should be about a week. |

PS to Swampy: Stock seats on e-bay for $25 would be a rare find. It happens, but they usually go for $60 on up + shipping. |

Hey Swampy, Webe's wife here. Thanks for the concern about my knee. Its nothing to worry about, didn't even rip my jeans. Had worse tripping on the pavement as a kid...its just like a bad rug burn. Thanks for all the info on the parts (everyone). I'm letting WeBe handle that stuff. Can't wait to ride again!!! |

Agree with Erik on the seat thing. I paid 80ish with shipping (eBay), seen two of them go for roughly the same since I bought mine. |

I saw a corbin go for $260 on ebay yesterday too... And Corbin itself still lists them at $345. Where the heck can you get one for $220? nick |

Corbin had dropped the price to $220. I'm guessing they raised it back up to $345. (Maybe they made them fit better and used the low price to clear out old stock?) Might be worth it to check around and see if someone is still using the old pricing. (Message edited by gearheaderiko on June 08, 2006) |

Nick Thanks,For now we decided to leave the old seat on for a while with the battle scar and plan to purchase a corbin at a later date. The tear is only 3/4" x 2" and it is close to the tail section. Later, Webe |

Erik, sorry but I don't have the old sprocket cover. The dealer did the recall and I forgot to ask for the old parts mainly the cover. I'm going to the dealer t price and possibly pick up parts. The fork tubes were not bent.I did find that the fork opposite of the caliper had a .007"bend,but when you are splitting hairs the fork works fine. Later,Webe |

Yeah, you'll never notice the fork bend in appearance or handling. I think mines worse than that. I would like to hear the full sprocket failure story. Most of us know its a recall/failure item, but we rarely of a failure straight from someone it happened too. The myth?! is that it explodes! |

Hi Gearheaderiko, I'm Webe's wife. I was actually the one riding it when the sprocket broke. Bought the bike used in November and rode it home from the dealership. Next day we rode to surprise my Dad (he was proud) and on the way home I noticed a strange thump thump thump... and I knew I hadn't run over anything. I flagged Webe down and said "Something's wrong with the bike." He glanced over and said I don't see anything and motioned for me to go ahead of him. He thought I had a squirrel caught in the sprocket. Needless to say we didn't go any farther. Luckily we had turned off of the main road and had a nice place to wait for our buddy to come trailer the bike back home. The sprocket broke all the way across the middle. Webe said it broke at a bolt hole and then peeled up like a banana. It almost broke all the way across again. It shaved a good portion off of the fender belt guard. Was an interesting ride. Second time riding my own bike. Webe's home now so I'll let him post any further details.

Well I did have fun at the dealer saying that I always thought Harley dealers under estimated the power of the blast. And it was more than just a beginner bike. The under estimating power I was talking about was all the attention it got at the dealership,I really got some strange looks from the technicians.I guess they thought I was pulling wheelies or something. Thanks to Bad-web I learned of the recall and handed the copy of the recall notice to the service Manager that I printed off Bad-web. They were not carrying Buell when the recall came out so they had no clue. Well that's all I have for now, going to bed got a long ride to the Outer Banks tomorrow. Later, Webe |
