Has anybody had a problem with water getting into the tank? I ride in the rain sometimes and wash the bike regularly. I started having a surging and bucking problem that I could'nt figure out. No trouble codes and all the sensors connections were good. I've had the S3 for 4 years and never thought about water in the tank til I was gasing up after I washed it. I pulled the gas cap and a fairly big drop of water ran into the tank. when I was going down the road the thing would cut out for a second and start running fine then cut out again so on and so on. I'd whack the throttle a couple of times and it would run fine for 5 or 10 minutes then start all over again After treating the gas with HEET for 4 full tanks the problem is gone. Has anybody had a similar problem and what was the solution? |

Yeah. The filler is shaped like a funnel. Wash it AFTER you fill the tank or you could try my method: don't wash it. |

Yes, I've had the same thing happen. Make sure the o-ring on the fuel cap is in good shape -- mine was cracked out of the showroom. When you wash the bike put a towel over the cap. Every oil change I put in a fuel treatment bottle. |

I thought I was being anal when I replaced my O-ring Thanks. I feel better about myself now. |
