Bret, I'm from NY and ignorant of the ferrys between Michigan and WI. Where do they leave from? What's the cost? How long does it take? Thanks matt |

Matt, Look in the archives of this thread for links to the local ferry systems. One puts you up near Manitowoc and the other faster one puts you in Milwaukee. Cost is more than the gas it will take to ride around the south end of the lake since you're coming from NY, but it will help you avoid a bunch of possible traffic in Gary Indiana and Chicagoland if you'll be riding through during rush hour (4am to 9pm M-F or there abouts ).

mbsween, There are two that go from michigan to wisconsin. One leaves from ludington and goes to manitowac I believe, and the other from Muskegon to Milwaukee. One takes three hours one take four from what I remember from last year. Try googling Lake Michigan Ferrys and you should be able to find them. DEE DEE DEE

Matt, Here's a link to the newer faster ferry: http://www.lake-express.com/htmdocs/pricing_schedule/index.html And here's a link to the USS Badger: http://www.ssbadger.com/schedule/schedule.html And here's a comparison page I just tripped over: http://www.milwaukee-muskegon.com/

I'm just following Bomber, if he's gonna be there, then I'm gonna be there. I doubt I can pull more than a couple of HP on the dyno, though, my feet keep slipping off the rollers. rt |

Dry = Buell...Wet = Miata. Simple decision for an old guy from the Milwaukee area. Life's a roller coaster. Enjoy the ride!

Put your raingear on and ride, you won't melt. Besides you'll get to ride a water cooled Buell. It's Homecoming 06, lots of fun ahead!! |

I'm riding regardless. So is the Wife. If she can do it.....so can YOU!. The weather reports are so conflicting from one source to another, it's not worth worrying about. Like Coolice said, bring your rain gear. Now it may be easy for me to say since I live about an hour from the factory, but I say ride! The weather will be fine! |

I doubt I can pull more than a couple of HP on the dyno, though, my feet keep slipping off the rollers. Rode home from Road America races in the pouring rain, I didn't melt !! I'm also ok with the 30% chance, plus it changes everyday weathermen get paid so much to predict so little correctly !! |

Hmmm...going to have to dig a little deeper for my rain gloves and totes. That just could be a good omen for all as it only rains when I don't take the gear along. Never saw a drop when I have the rain gear with me. |
