I just brought home my first Buell yesterday. It is a 2003 xb9s 3500 miles nice shape. It has an exhaust kit on it. It looks like the ceramic coated one form Buell. From what i can tell the ECM is stock. I know this can cause it to run lean. How bad is this??? Also how do I recalibrate the TPS after ECU install. T

Thanks in advance
Eric

Welcoem to Bad Web first off.

And you might want to have the dealership do the TPS, it cost me just 34 bucks at a dealership here in Iowa. then take bike out and run it above 3500 RPMS for about 20 mins or so, so that the bike will adjust.

I dunno, think that cuts it though. G/L and welcome again!!!

The only dealer here is a Harley dealer.

give them a call. They still might be able to do it. Ask, it doesn't hurt. or go to buell.com and see where the closest dealership is.

I am not keen on the do it yourself tps reset. Requires software and laptop. Sorry bud!

G/L, but maybe someone else might have a better answer.

I took mine to a harley dealer. Tell them you want your ecm flashed, They might get confused when you ask for a TPS reset. If it is the race ECM it will say race use only in white letters on the ECM.

Recommendation: when you look on Buell.com for dealers, select the one who lists BRAG on their profile. That means there's at least one or two persons on staff who are enthusiasts about BRAG and that would mean the nearest to you would be Topeka - maps.google.com shows them to be just as close as the others (Dodge City or Hays)
