One would think it's the dead of winter and no one can go out and play. I honestly don't trust Badweb anymore as a source of Buell information due to the amount of moderation. No information has ever been moved from the public's eye, except for this one time where the author demanded that his informative posts be taken away. And when I say "demanded", that's exactly what I meant. You no longer trusting a Buell site because non-Buell content (petty bickering) was moved is interesting. And by the way, I've moved nothing, as I've been off-line....RIDING!

Ha, I was considering to do the same as Jon. With the same arguments. But I have just a thad more patience. Snail was trolling with a very sophisticated bait and Rocketman passed the line with personal attacks. Hans |

Hans, truth is I was trying to lighten things up with my chaos thread. Sometimes a little humor can go long ways toward bringing people togeather. I was feeling a little guilty about the 'money' thread I posted, and thought a good laugh would help everyone. Too bad there's no humor left at Badweb. Good to see you posting, Hans. You are a friend, and I wish you the best. |

Well Snail: In that case: I would estimate myself as 4: Far from too much order and rules. I would like only a few basic rules: No low blows, Not being boring, Not kicking a person who is already down, No lies. Inaccurate or false statements are OK, but no lies. Hans |

Hans, I got stuck in the middle on this mess. Friends with all parties involved, which has made it hard for me. Trying to sort it out in my own mind, why good honorable people with a common bond (motorcycles) have grown so far apart. If you would look at the Chaos thread, you would see I didn't pass judgement on anyone. That was a good thread until Rocket ruined it. Anyway, I see no reconciliation here, everyone has their agenda, and the agendas are bitter. |

Anyway, I see no reconciliation here, everyone has their agenda, and the agendas are bitter. If we're thinking about the same thing, I'd have to agree. That is a shame as well. Also is a shame that people not involved in the situation have not only kept it going, but have made things worse. Matter of perception Yes, everything written on the interweb is. No humor allowed here. Matter of perception my friend. There was a time where one brand of humor was offending some here, not to me, but others, and thus another website message board was born, free speech ya know. If ya don't like the rules, one is free to start their own board, and make their own rules, or lack of.

Jon, Despite my breaking Don's stones about it, I too might be inclined to agree that the threads in question had crossed over to personal attack. I happened to be wallpapering the room next door to the 'puter yesterday, and popping back and forth while waiting for sections to dry, so I noticed the threads in question, and also noticed how quickly they disappeared. Got me thinking, in an X-Files conspiracy theory kinda way, is all. As far as "trusting" any Internet source, well good practice IMHO is to not trust. The only way to trust is to have the entire Bell curve - the one person that had their bike make 100gazillion RWHP and go 250,000 miles troublefree gets balanced against the guy that had it throw a rod through the case on the way home from the dealer. An example: Exhaust System X B9rider posts Exhaust System X gave him 17 more HP and increased his sex drive. 12S rider counters with ESX made him lose HP and potency and caused a lean condition that holed a piston. That starts a round of name calling between the 2, with some other folks stepping in. B9 is a liar and paid shill, 12S can't turn a wrench, and his dog is ugly, etc. So A: BWEB moderator deletes the thread, since it had turned into personal attacks. I still don't know why 12S holed a piston, or if the claims of B9 are accurate. If I'm shopping for a new exhaust I'll probably not consider ESX since I don't know if it's the greatest or a meltdown waiting to happen, and I'm hesitant to ask about it here since the last thread turned into a round of Yo Momma. B: Same Mod steps in and reminds the participants to keep the postings relevant, asks folks to revisit previous posts to clean up the personal stuff, and interjects some relevant ?s like "Doesn't B9 also have a large bore kit and aftermarket cams that contributed to the HP increase" and "Didn't 12S put one of those fancy manual FI boxes on his bike and twiddle the settings, possibly causing the lean condition himself?" Sometimes its best to either let things run their own course, or steer them back on track. |

Choice "B" is the way it should be. It's also the most difficult, since all of us have lives, jobs, and families. I will do my best to go that route, and only move the offending posts from a thread. But the threads in question here at this time had nothing at all to do with a Buell, so no one missed out on any good information in this case. Thanks for the advise. Grand Daddy said, always listen to advise, don't always take it, but, always listen. I'm listening.

Order has its own chaos and Chaos has its own order. Snail, I saw the intial humor in the chaos thread. As to the "why" I think you answered it in the previous post. Perceptions. The good thing is that we all do not see eye to eye. The bad thing is that it can and does go to far at times. Life would be boring if we all saw the same bland black and white picture.

Most riders have at least a touch of control freak in them, but as Buell riders we are also kind of mavericks and go against the grain. It's an interesting idea concerning which way we lean...chaos or order? BDWD......... Biker Dads With Daughters est.2006 defending our sweet little girls from those bad bad boys. You should see my garage for a perfect example of ordered chaos, It's a total mess with all kinds of stuff everywhere, & I know where everything is (roughly) cos I saw the thing I need now when I was looking for something else last week. I didn't get to read any of this stuff before it was deleted so I can't pass judgement, but I appreciate the moderators have a role to play, & like baseball umpires they have to make the calls as they see them. I've neither the time or the inclination to do it myself, so I say best of luck to those with the job, it's a thankless task. "Well it's all right now, I learned my lesson well, You can't please everyone, so you got to please yourself" ps. Snail, there IS humour on the BadWeB, perhaps it's not to your taste, sometimes it's not to mine, & sometimes mine go's down like a skunk at a wedding, but that's life. We seem to be in the same boat on this one, Paul. I too know most of the folks on both sides of this nasty fence, and wish there were some way I could tear the thing down. But of course, there’s nothing I can do, and it’s an ugly thing for me to watch. And btw, I found your chaos/order thread to be quite thought provoking. And I wasn’t thinking much about the two Buell boards, but rather the bigger picture. Which one of those ten numbers would I choose for myself, and like your example, how close would it be to the one chosen for me by the people who know me well? Honest self-evaluation is a difficult task. Hard to see the difference between who we are and who we want to be, and I think that struggle popped up while trying to find an answer to your question. I’d say, try the thread again. I need to think about it some more. |

And having read the post by Innes, I see an example of chaos that I hadn’t considered, but one that I hate, hate, hate: the garage/shop chaos. Did you know, Innes, that your description of your garage, and the way you know where stuff is in that pile, is a perfect example of one of the major symptoms of adult ADD? Do you also find, for example, that you go into the next room to get something, and when you arrive you can’t remember why you came there? |

I've neither the time or the inclination to do it myself, so I say best of luck to those with the job, it's a thankless task. it's not ENTIRELY thankless, but it seems that way sometimes. peace to all parties concerned. go ride, or smoke a doob, or get laid, or catch a fish, or cook up some shrimp on the BBQ, or watch Wind Tunnel on the SPEED Channel, or change your oil and filter, or... ...continue to duke it out here on BADWEB. if you choose the latter, us "umpires" will continue to do our best to make the right call. Philly, I think it is best to let things run their course to a great degree. I like thread creep, slide and hijack in most cases. No doubt, not every custodian call is a bulls eye...mine included. We try our best to define the desired profile every time. Most times I feel right about what action I took. (Message edited by jon on May 29, 2006) |

Rocketman passed the line with personal attacks Sorry Hans I beg to differ on that one. What I spoke about two people in particular is the truth. The facts are there to see and are known. As far as I'm concerned their behaviour towards Blake and the BadWeB stinks, and it is hard to believe it isn't conspiratorial. So why would now be a good time to see a thread comparing the two forums? There's no humour in it what so ever if one looks at it from a BadWeB perspective. Rocket |

Had great ride yesterday afternoon with my favorite riding partner -- up through the Southern Kettle, over Piper Road and the Blessed Road X -- I'm gonna have to keep doing track days, or the girl and her Bonnie will be passing me and the MaDuece like we was on blocks -- great weather, til we got without morter fire distance from home -- a carefully planned route had us avoiding the microbursts pretty well (yeah, like I could PLAN that!) -- buncha fairly good sized trees downed, branches and other jetsom all over hte road -- phew, dodged another one! Sean, Truth is not enough to justify posting material that is derisive of others here on BadWeB. This simply isn't the place for waging personal attack of any kind. Let's please try to rise above that miserableness and be happy with our own integrity and honor. Look to the light and shun the miserableness. If you don't, the miserableness will inevitably drag one down. There will always be people who on one day will tell you that they seek not to malign you then on the next do just that. Miserable lying gossiping hags. Simply avoid them. Honorable folks can recognize that kind of miserableness. The miserable gossiping hags own words provide all the evidence a fair person needs to understand reality. I am gratified that there are enough fair people around to help maintain my faith in humanity. Cheers, Blake |
