Buddy of mine (DEW) and I are planning on heading up to Vanson in Fall River, MA this Sunday to check out some riding gear. Going to be leaving from Western CT (Sherman) and was hoping we could get some suggestions on the best Buell Route from some of you CT BW’s in the know. Was considering heading up Route 202, picking up 44 just before Hartford, and taking 44 all the way into Providence. Can any of you let me know what 44 is like or suggest a better route. Looking to stay away from the boring highways and stick with some rural and not too heavily traveled routes.

All help will be greatly appreciated......thanks

Paul

My Buell and I have cruised a good portion of 44 and would recommend that route. Both routes you describe are recommended CT rides. Check out this link.

I also remember reading in a Touring magazine that the eastern part of 44 is a great ride.

44 is a nice ride, definitely gets busy in some sections. its nothing all that special (from a twisty perspective) but i'd prob pick it over a highway-slab route too if I had the day to waste away.

i agree w/ typeone. i ride it often and though it is better than the highway it does lack the twisties. but for where you are headed it is the best route to take. it is a relaxing ride for sure.
