via buell.com Take a look at the crazy misprint about the engine specs!!! Kinda sad the lightning did not do as well as the firebolt. Check out #5, BMW R1200GS makes you wonder where the XB12X would be on this list. http://a1264.g.akamai.net/7/1264/1354/a3055969211e9e/www.buell.com/en_us/news_ev ents/pdf/BikeTop50.pdf |

The Buell web site had a link to a similar article in another British bike mag which tested the Firebolt along with various other top sportbikes. Firebolt did well, can't recall if it came out on top though. |

Yeah, either they got the specs wrong for the Buell, or they got the bike description and stats wrong (pictures, etc.) |

We have been invited by Performance Bikes magazine to take our race bike down to Bruntingthorpe testing ground tomorrow (Thursday) for a back to back test with a stock XB12R, the new BMWR2100S and a BMWR1100S Boxer Cup racer. Bruntingthorpe is where the UK auto industry tests all sorts of vehicles, and they have a 3 mile test track that has everything you could possibly find on it, including a mile long straight and every conceivable corner. It is also bumpy (like most roads!). The bikes will be fitted with full telemetry equipment so I am looking forward to seeing the data They will be publishing the results in the magazine in the near future. They are also doing an ongoing feature on our race bike in the UK Thunderbike series. Our rider, Phil Read works for them PB also have a project roadgoing XB that they are going to be building and customising over the coming issues, so if you are going to get a UK bike mag Performance Bikes should be the one to go for |

Trojan, PLEASE keep us posted on PB's Buell coverage. It would be great to have a "heads up" on which issue(s) to look for on the magazine rack. I'm a regular reader of "PB", "TWO" and "Bike" - it's too bad our US mags aren't as "enthusiastic" about MCs as you Brits are !!! THANKS, E (Message edited by eexb on May 24, 2006) |

I thought Bruntingthorpe had a two mile straight? Pretty sure it does. Rocket |
