All I know is that once again luck was shining on a Buell event last weekend. Not this weekend. It figures that the first time the Buell demo truck has been to Long Island it is pouring out. I was trying to get a lot of new people hooked on Buell. Mike Long Island, NY 06 XB12X Black of course |

Ftd, What specifically was he ragging about regarding Buell and Erik? "Stopped at Knoxville HD for engine/primary oil change. Service writer ragged on Buells and specifically Erik, what is with that?? Ran the Dragon, 28, etc., ULY handled it well." |

Jugallo, There's been surfing in Michigan (and Wisconsin, and Illinois, and Ohio) for many, many years. I attended a surfing contest with several other Dunes Beach Surf Club members in Grand Haven, Michigan in 1967. I was finally able to surf the North Shore of Hawaii in October of 2004, at 53 y/o. After motorcycling, surfing is my favorite activity - and it might be first if there were water and waves around here (Southern Illinois). Check out lakesurf dot com. Also, see 'Step Into Liquid'. Very cool trip, y'all. (snif, snif) Steve Gear up! (Message edited by wasions on May 13, 2006) |

Anonymous, It was a strange deal for sure. I had a couple of hours to blow as I waited for my Uly to get the oil/primary oil changed (5/8/06 AM). So the service writer and I had a chance to talk. I told him of my trip to WI, factory tour, lunch, RR's being built, etc. He said he did not think much of Erik. Met him when he visited the Knoxville dealership for a demo day? or some other Buell function. He said Erik was "one of the most arrogant people he has ever met". That of course is 180 degrees from every description I have ever heard. An example he gave was uponing returning from lunch Erik was in his way so he asked him to move but Erik replied "can't you see I am talking to a beautiful woman here?" Made me wonder if this guy even knew who EB was or what?? He also pontificated on how the RR's with "only" 150 hp would be trounced by the IL4 liter bikes. huh? My head was spinning around trying to make sense of all the misinformation and wondering about how bad a fluid change could be messed up by this place. Turns out the tech was a Buell fan and was cool. I did make a comment to the service writer that my experience with EB was the opposite of his and left it at that. Sorry so long winded. Frank (if you need more info on this matter shoot me an email or call) |

On a lighter note here is my Uly home at last with its distant cousins (ha). I am packing up today and riding the Bourget to Jax tomorrow to hook up with a buddy and trailing my bike and his Mutant Buell (gasp) to Myrtle Beach for the spring rally. A week of hot rodding around, a bit different than the WI trip but great fun too.

Bobbie, glad you had fun! I did too. Well, the last phase of the trip is over. I washed the millions of bugs and thick layer of dirt off the Uly on Sunday. *sigh* Can't wait to head back up there! |

Ftd, Remember the service writer's name? I'd like to confront him on this, because he is a lying SOB. Anyone who knows Erik would know this story is total BS. In fact, maybe Erik would like to confront him and have the discussion in front of the dealership owner! |

He said Erik was "one of the most arrogant people he has ever met." I've met Erik. Erik is incredably not arrogant. The man came to a gathering of Buell fans and we all treated him like he was God. It would be extrodinarily easy to let that go to your head. In fact you would have to work to keep it from going to your head. And he must, because he is a very down to earth guy. |

The service writer is so FOS I can smell it from here. I've only met him once, Nick's house 2006 Deltona/Daytona, and in the middle of what had to be a record setting week in the hectic department he just 'hung out.' Didn't even mind getting his pic snapped with my little guy,,,,insuring another life-long fan of the product line Clue-free service writer needs a boot in the bottom. G2 |

Anyone who knows Erik would know this story is total BS. Not only BS but it smacks of someone who is out to intentionally damage Buell Motorcycle company. Wouldn't be the first time for that. Jerks. |

Ftd, et al There is a good chance that the person that service writer met was exactly as described. At a big event it is not unusual to have a few a$$holes pretending to be someone they are not just to screw with newbies. Once saw a tall skinny guy signing Willie G's autograph in Springfield Il at a dealer open house. Every one that got one was thrilled but had a wildly different take on what sort of person Will G is. |

I just returned from Myrtle Beach. Saw a Uly or two there, and a fair lot of Mutant Buells. MB is a custom bike kind of rally. Annonymous, I believe the service writer's name is Brandon.
