Has anyone had any experience with one of these? We got an extra 3hp on the CV base run when we took the CO sniffer out of the Supertrapp. I wanted to do another run with the AFT and without the sniffer to see if the same 3hp would be there, but I had to go to a wedding last night and we just ran out of time..... Peter: Looks like you rode through a Dutch shower since long time on a slippy soapy road to Waddinxveen! |

Aaron, My brother is coming to the states next month. Also to CO and rocky mountains. Maybe you can do a meet and greet. I will give him your e-mail adress. Stoef |

Peter, Can't quite read the name on the top but it looks like a billet version of a Quicksilver. The needle has constant diameter with the back side flattened and tapering in thickness, right? I recognize the needle adjuster sticking out of the top. Did Edelbrock sell out? Ran a QS on my 87 FXRT for a number of years. Good performance carb but only got around 30 mpg with mildly hopped up mill. Sparky 96S1, 98S3 |

Sparky, It's a billet cross between a Mikuni and a Q/S as far as I can tell. It's made by a company called AFT. (I think it stands for Atomised/ing? Fuel Technology/ies? Something like that). The tricky thing about them is the shape of the throat. The chart above is from my bike with my CV, then a new Mikuni after being jetted to suit and then the AFT carb. They don't have different jets, only the tapered needle that you described. We went with one richer needle than what it came fitted with. I'm curious if anyone else has played with them before, as it certainly makes extra power. No idea what the fuel economy is like yet. Stoef, I have emailed Buell to put my name down for Zandvoort and will go out anyway to see if I can get on the track. Aaron, PPiA |

The carb we are testing is a AFT Atomized Fuel Technologies. It's a oval throat flatslide with a adjustable needle. It's designed by Red Edmonston the guy who invented the Lectron. So far we came up with some nice results , there are a few things that need to be refined on the carb but it has a good base. |

Could it be paint from the drum or dyno platform? Arvel |

PPiA: I don't know what that sh*t is, but it looks like the same stuff that was all over the back of my oil tank, inside of my rear fender, etc. when I bought S1#1 (the one with all the hot-rod engine work). The previous owner told me he'd had the bike on the dyno. I'm guessing that the stuff is related to the dyno testing-maybe paint or traction compound or a mix? I do know that it's a b*tch to clean off! road_thing |

Is that froth trannie fluid from the vent? Maybe hitting the rear tire and getting slung on the plate hanger? |

Stoef: Is your brother going to be here during the period of 11 July - 15 July? If so, we can give him the "treatment" before we send him home to you. I think you should come with him and come be held accountable for what you've done to the formerly responsible and grown up Aaron. When we sent him to you he was fine. He's there 2 days, he's up late covorting, peeing in the woods and riding with total disregard for sanity. Yes..come with your brother...hehehehe. Court |

Court, I don't know the precise date he will be in the States but I thought he would like to "catch" a few days of Sturgis too... I gave him Aarons card (I hope I get it back) so he can contact Aaron. Be carefull with him... |
