ok i'm riddeled toasted my 2e stator in 5000 miles ( slide note, i used a secondhand one with 12k on it ) with the first replacement i replaced the regulator aswel..as it did bleed some volt on ( diode test ) i'm in riddels..bad batch off stators ? or a different problem ? perhaps the stator keeps loading while there's need for it.. i thought the xb regulator was "smart" one only giving volts when needed ? should there be a ground on the regulator ? any idee's ? cheers, bud |

Where did the 2nd one fail? Seems like it would be easy to nick the insulation and cause a rapid failure of a removed and reinstalled part. |

noop.. havened take it apart yet, there's no new stator in the europa hd-ware house , and no dealer in holland has one in stock... to little time to many things to do. i'm going to france (croix ) next week for the annual buell track event, i'm unplugging all lights and stuff, pack a spare battery and jumper wires, put my bolt in the trailer and run here with out the altenator.. se will hold out a few 15 min. sesions and load the battery with my car after each session when i'm back i will look closely for nicks and stuff, i just had my primairy off last week, to check the spannershoe, and did look at the visual wires, didn't see any thing wrong.. cheers, bud |

btw..did some 70 miles on the track, only on the battery |
