I have been busy. I go to 4 different Motorcycle web sites and have only touched the computer about 5x in about a week. Had to unplug and get off the grid for a while. I'm up for the V' after the meeting. Ride safe... |

Frank, I know somebody with a 2000 PW50, wants $550. Runs and looks good, needs a seat. Dogs nibbled on it. |

Curt, Hope you made the "V" to show off your sled. I picked up the carbide tooling to remove that exaust stud, gimmie a buzz this weekend and we'll knock it out 770 517-6176. Sat around noon usually works best for me. Mike, Found a Suzuki Jr 50 for 5 beans in nice shape. Gonna see if the guy wants to swap out for one of my .45's. Thanks for looking. |

Unfortunately, the clutch has to come out. And of course as with every damn thing on this bike, it requires a special tool that the dealership doesn't keep in stock. I don't suppose anyone has a clutch spring compressor? |

S2, do you know of anywhere locally I might find one? The dealership can order me one, but it's $117. Online prices I've found range from $52 to $78. |

Ah ha! I don't have to disassemble the clutch packs to get the basket off. Now I just need to figure out how to keep the engine sprocket from rotating so I can get the nut off. There is (of course) a special Harley tool for this, but it looks like something I can rig up. |

Matt, Just heard your tale of tuber woe... Sorry I couldn't be of much help as the clutch is the only part on my bike that hasn't come apart yet. Learned alot of new stuff from reading the posts though, something else to look forward to. Got the M2 back running, battery, VR, diodes, relays. Shoulda just bought the M2 electrical parts shot gun replacement kit but figured I'd troubleshoot it and only replace needed parts. Only took a month to figure it out. Got Curt's X1 squared away, that exhaust stud was an ass kicker! Hope to see everyone thurs. Stephan, Hope your friend has found peace. |

Hey guys I know no one is posting here much anymore but I could use some good vibes and positive thoughts. Some friends and I went on a ride today to this place called Bishops Castle- it's a castle in the mountains in the middle of no where this crazy man is building. It's right in the middle of some good twisties so it makes for a good ride. We're going up a mountain and I'm taking it really easy- I'm just not in the mood to ride FAST. It's been a while since I've been up there and it's Beautiful scenery. All the guys give me shit for riding too fast anyways (whatever) so I'm just cruising along enjoying being on my bike in the Mountains. Some of the guys are a couple corners ahead and I'm just hanging back riding my own ride enjoying the sunshine, my friend Dave is a couple tic's behind me as we go up the mountain. I come around a right hand corner that's pretty sharp- no problem Except that when I get 3/4 of the way through the corner there is a Truck pulling an RV IN MY FREAKING LANE The first thing Shred ever told me about riding was LEAN or DIE (thanks) Well I did, almost low-siding under the trailer. I was so far over there wasn't anymore tire for me to use. (I now have NO chicken strips on the right side, but I would have rather gotten rid of them another way) I made it through the corner and look in my mirror only to see Dave's Red CBR shattering in the air behind me. I stopped as soon as I could and RAN back to the scene. I couldn't see Dave, as he was thrown back around the corner a ways and when I did see him he wasn't moving and was in a very unnatural position. Now I've seen Shred go down, I've seen Jack and Braveangel go down and I've HAD enough. My friend Dave was SOOOOOOOOO LUCKY- the Angels were looking over him. He has 4 broken ribs, one of which punctured a lung and that is IT. The bike made contact right behind the drivers door with the mirror. The Engine case then took all the impact at the rear tire of the truck blowing it out and bending the rim. Dave was thrown forward off the bike INTO the trailer head first, denting the trailer in about 6 inches (we can tell this by the paint on the trailer and his helmet) He is VERY lucky The driver of the truck was ticketed but still... Dave was going to take his riding jacket off when we stopped about 30 minutes before cuz he was hot. I asked him, would you rather be hot or have you skin, in a joking way and he kept it on- Thank God. Also we don't have a helmet law here and a LOT of sportbike guys choose not to wear them- Of course most of them have never taken a corner except in the city but hey they can ride fast in a straight line- Isn't that what counts Thanks 3%er's for encouraging the use of gear. It has made a difference in a LOT of people's lives. Remember the first time New12r rode with us?? Or what about Jimmy GXR Now look at them Full leathers, back protectors the whole 9 yards. I have encouraged that with EVERYONE I ride with here and it's made a difference. You guys all are a great bunch to ride with because you promote safe riding by example. With all the squids here I'm glad I learned to ride with the best. Ride Safe |
