aaron, The new style is too big in diameter. Also, the new metal flange gets in the way. It could be done but would require a fair amount if grinding. I've got both at home, I'll see if I can't get a few pics for you. It will be a day or so as a friend has my digi camera. Brad |

I thought I read that we just had to trim the ears off the newer isolators to use them on an S2. |

Yeah just grind down the ears/tabs and they fit fine... |

It is not necessary to use the new style isolators on the S2. With the removable sideplates of the S2, sufficient compression of the isolators (necessary for longetivity) is darn near guaranteed. But as always, it is your bike so do what you want. 1313 |

It may not be necessary but it will be a ton cheaper! |

What? Do you mean that we actually have to change out the rear isolators on these things? I thought the front ones were the only ones to crap out. Nearly 40,000 miles of hard abuse on mine (88 c.i.d.) and they are still in good shape. I have a new set just in case, that I may put in when I pull this engine again. 1313 speaks the truth, but I don't know about cost. How much is it worth to ya' to not have to grind the ears off. I wouldn't do it for $20, or maybe more. jimidan |

I'd like to see pix of the new isolators ground-down to fit an S2. I'm in the middle of that job myself, and I've got a set of the new-style iso's on hand. rt |
