Does anybody know the details for this Saturday's demo rides at Bloomington? Are Harley and Buell bringing bikes or is the dealership providing them? In either case, which models will be available? Thanks, Mark |

The dealership is providing the bikes. If it is anything like last year, there should be pretty much one of everything available. |

Pete, I thought your bike was going on the trailer? I originally wanted to ride up but changed my mind because everyone wanted to trailer. We need to discuss this. |

After some figuring, It will cost right at $200 in fuel just to get the bikes up and back on the trailer, then our share of Ryan's fuel and camping fees. |

Chad, sorry about that. I was concerned about the trailer. After talking to Ryan about it I feel more confident that we can put the bikes on it without having to rest them on the kickstands. We'll probably have to pitch in for some ratchet straps, but I'm ok with that. The biggest issue with me right now is that I have a surgery scheduled for the 24th of this month. I won't know until the time comes if I will even be up to going or not. I hope so, and that is what I plan on doing, but I thought you guys ought to know about it. I have to get it done by the end of this month because there won't be time over the summer to do it. We have lots of big projects in the works. |

Someone is mistaken. No red lights for us all weekend in St Louis. We made it to the quarter finals in Super Gas, getting put out by a slim margin to the eventual race winner (9.757 to 9.721) and we also made it to the quarter finals in the Destroyer class before being eliminated by Erik Ryder who, during the weekend, set a new national Destroyer ET record, was the number one qualifier and the eventual Destroyer class winner. Thanks to all who made the ride to St. Louis. Ron, Rich and I sincerely appreciated the support. I hope to see you guys at Demo Day. |

Ok my Buelling bretheren, for those of you that couldn't make it, here are some notes from the May 13 meeting of HTC: HTC patches and shirts are on the way! Patches should be in soon, t-shirts shortly after that. Unfortunately we did not make the Twisty Tour schedule. I suggested that we make a video and post it like the guys from the 3%ers in Georgia do. I have a feeling we might have lost out partly because people think of cornfields when they think of Indiana. Anyone have the gear to make a video? Our two major events of the summer are getting closer. Homecoming is right around the corner. If you want to go, speak up now! If you do it at the last minute it might be challenging. Even if you are just thinking about it, let us know! Right now the plan is for Ryan, April, Eddie, Chad and myself to trailer up on the morning of Thursday, June 1st. Ron, Brad and Erin are riding up. We will be staying at Westward Ho campground. Ryan and April are kind enough to be offering thier camper, tents, and a trailer to pull the bikes. For those of you who want to go with the trailer group, we will be meeting at Ryans house Thursday morning at 9 AM sharp. If you want to ride up, contact Ron and make arrangements to meet him. Homecoming will be tons of fun so if you can possibly come, don't miss it! Our second event of course is the Sportbike Weekend. I'm sure most of you already know it is being held on the 4th of July weekend. Lots of events are planned, we will need as many volunteers to help as possible so please help out. We also watched a group riding instructional video that Roger (Easy_Rider) provided. Thanks Roger! Now all we need to do is get you and your S3T to a meeting! :-) Big lessons learned are really just common sense. Set designated stops before the group leaves, assign "sweep" riders and never, ever leave the group without telling someone where you are going. Our next HTC meeting will be held on June 10th, noon, at Buell of Bloomington. |

Pete, I am reaallly leaning towards riding up (weather permitting). If you guys don't have anything to pull the trailer with, I'll let you use my truck. Just treat it as if it were your own and NO smoking (Pete). haha Was that the Brad from Terre Haute at the meeting and the one going to Homecoming? This should be pretty cool. I have been to Homecoming by myself the last 2 years. |

The Twisty Tour stops in the new Fuell are: June 18 in Glendale CA, September 29 in Santa Fe, NM Yep, that was Brad from Terre Haute. I'm not sure if I will be up to going at all, much less riding all the way up. I'm not sure what to do at this point. |

Well guys, how did the Demo Day go? Had planned on being there. Didn't have to work so it was looking good til Friday night. Had a major allergy attack that settled in my lungs. Didn't even get out of the house all weekend. Went to work Mon and Tues, but took today off. Too much nasty air at work! Got a tire question. I need a new rear tire. I've got Dunlop 208's on fr & rr now and like the handling, but wear seems to be pretty poor. Only got about 2K out of the rear. The 205's that were on it lasted about 4500 with lesser handling quality. Anybody running Scorps or Diablo Stradas? Bloomington HD/Buell has Dunlop 208 and Pirelli Scorps in stock. I'll be going over tomorrow afternoon to get a new tire installed so any input is greatly appreciated.

Pete, I can give you some first hand info on your surgery. I had a nasal polypectomy and correction for a deviated septum done in 1991 and another polypectomy done in 2002. You'll not want to bend over or lift anything for a week minimum, but more like 2. Probably won't even get the packing out for 2-5 days. Normal breathing won't return for 2-4 weeks til all the swelling goes down. I doubt I will ever have it done again unless the sinus polyps get so bad I can no longer breath through my nose.

Dan, thanks for the input, I appreciate it. As for the tires, I would definately go with the Pirellis before I would do Dunlops. They handle alot better. They also last longer. (Message edited by indy_bueller on May 17, 2006) |

Yup, just did a little info searching in the KV. Looks like I'll be going with a Scorpian Sync. Hopefully the front Dunlop will last through the rest of this season. Which Pirelli do you have experience with? I have no complaints with the 208 handling, at least not after they warm up. I did do some riding pretty early this year and gotta say the Dunlops don't grip when even moderatly warm. They are what hey are. A hot track tire. |

I've got a Scorpion Sync on the front. I noticed a huge difference in handling when I replaced the Dunlop with it. Likewise I felt a tremendous change when I took the Dunlop off the rear last summer. I replaced it with a Metzeler M-1. I'll be going with a Scoprion Sync rear when that one wears out. |

Pete, if the weather is looking rough, I'll load mine in the back of the truck and meet you guys at Ryan's Thurs morning. If the weather is good I'll ride my bike up to WI. Someone will just have to come and get the truck. The easiest way would be to drop off your vehicle here in Terre HAute at my place to get the truck. I'll give you guys at least 2 days notice one way or the other. |

Dan, I have been very happy with my Pirelli Diablo Strada's. I just checked www.getpirelli.com for the deal I got in on late this past winter (not available any more). If you would have bought a Strada rear, Pirelli would have sent you the front for the $25 shipping fee. I paid $140 for both, delivered. They are still here in my spare bedroom. I knew I would need them sooner or later. |

Oh, I have over 7500 miles on my rear Strada and should get probably 1000 more. No track days on this one. |

Thanks for the response Chad. We will definately have a role for you to help with. We plan on getting to Putnam around 7:30 am so we can get set-up, registered and be ready for practice. There's no need for you to get there as early as we are though. |
